(Dec. 2, 2000)--Tom Jacobson (Sr., Mayville, N.D.) scored a team-high 19 points and Jeff Brandt (Fr., Minot, N.D.) added 16 as the Fighting Sioux downed Minnesota-State Moorhead 67-66 in overtime Saturday night.
The Sioux found themselves trailing 29-27 at halftime thanks in large part to a 31 percent shooting performance, but bounced back to shoot 59 percent the rest of the way and force a 59-59 deadlock at the end of regulation.
Moorhead's Justin Haugen scored a game-high 20 points and nine rebounds in a losing effort.
UND opens the North Central Conference season Friday, Dec. 8 at home against South Dakota State and hosts Augustana the following night. Both games are slated to begin at 8 p.m.
