Grand Forks, ND - University of North Dakota junior Jenny Boll (Crookston, Minn.) has been named the co-North Central Conference Player of the Week along with Augustana's Tamara Oltmanns the league office announced on Monday. The 6-1 forward was recognized for her play in last weekend's games against Nebraska-Omaha and Northern Colorado.
Against UNO on Friday night, an 84-71 Sioux victory, Boll hit 7 of 11 shots to score 19 points. She also grabbed four rebounds. On Saturday at Northern Colorado, Boll scored a game-high 21 points while also grabbing eight rebounds as North Dakota completed the weekend sweep with a 75-61 victory.
For the weekend Boll averaged 20.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting 57% from the field, 50% from 3-point range and 88% from the line.
Boll also reached a number of milestones in the two games. With her fourth rebound at Nebraska-Omaha, she reached the 500 rebound mark for her career. With a second-half 3-point field goal on Saturday, Boll became the 20th player in UND women's basketball history to score over 1,000 career points. With those two milestones, she also became just the 13th player in UND history to reach both marks in a career. She currently has 1,006 career points and 508 career rebounds.
For the season Boll is averaging 18.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while shooting a team-high 58.1 percent from the field and 82.0 percent from the free throw line.
North Dakota is currently 16-3 on the season and tied for first in the NCC with South Dakota State. Both teams have 6-3 marks. The Sioux play at North Dakota State this weekend.
