Grand Forks, ND - University of North Dakota juniors Jenny Boll and Becky Moen have been named to the 2002 Academic All-North Central Conference Women’s Basketball Team. Boll, who has a 3.85 GPA as a biology/secondary education major, was honored for the second consecutive year. Moen, who has a 3.82 GPA as a physical therapy major, was named to the honorable mention team last year.
Boll averages 17.3 points and 7.5 rebounds for the #3 Fighting Sioux, who are currently 20-4 overall and atop the NCC standings with a 12-4 league mark. Moen averages a team-leading 22.8 points per game and is among the nation's leaders in both scoring and 3-point field goal percentage. Both have joined 1,000-point club this season. Boll scored her 1,000th career point in the Sioux's win at Northern Colorado on Jan. 26. Moen cracked the 1,000-point career mark last weekend in UND's victory over St. Cloud State.

Grand Forks, ND - University of North Dakota junior Jenny Boll has been selected to the first team of the Verizon Academic All-District VII Team as selected by CoSIDA. Boll, who averages 17.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for #3 North Dakota, has a 3.85 GPA as a biology/secondary education major. She was one of five student-athletes selected to the first team out of 79 District VII nominations. The five members of the first team have an aggregate GPA of 3.96.
Junior Becky Moen, who averages 22.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per game for the 20-4 Sioux, was named to the second team, also made up of five student-athletes. Moen has a 3.82 GPA as a physical therapy major.
The 15 members of the All-District team have an average GPA of 3.88.
The five student-athletes selected to the first team will now advance to the national Verizon Academic All-America ballot.
Boll joins Lori Carriere (1985), Jenny Walter (1992), Tracey Pudenz (1994) and Jaime Pudenz (1999) as North Dakota’s first team All-District VII honorees. Walter and both Pudenzes moved on to become Verizon (formerly GTE) Academic All-Americans.
