Moen named Women's Division II Bulletin All-American

Grand Forks, ND – University of North Dakota junior Becky Moen (Morris, MN) has been named to the Women's Division II Bulletin All-America second team it was announced on Tuesday. Junior Jenny Boll (Crookston, MN) earned honorable mention honors, while UND women's basketball coach Gene Roebuck was named the North Central Conference Coach of the Year.

Last month Moen was named to the Kodak All-America Team. Boll also earned honorable mention honors on that team.

Moen, who was a five-time North Central Conference Player of the Week and the league’s co-MVP, led North Dakota and the NCC in scoring at 22.7 points per game as well as free throw percentage (.849). Moen was the MVP of the NCC Wells Fargo Finals and named to the first team of the Daktronics All-North Central Region team (whose All-America team is still to be announced). Her 657 points for the season broke the previous UND mark of 600 (set by Jennifer Crouse in 1999). Moen was also Academic All-NCC and a member of the Verizon Academic All-District VII second team.

Boll, who was a three-time NCC Player of the Week this season, averaged 17.5 points and a team-high 7.6 rebounds per game while shooting 55.0 percent from the field. She was named All-NCC for the second consecutive year and was named to the Daktronics All-North Central Region second team. Boll was named to the Academic All-NCC team as well as the Verizon Academic All-District VII first team.

Roebuck was named the North Central Conference Coach of the Year after leading the Sioux to a 24-5 record and both regular-season and NCC Wells Fargo Finals championships. He also won the award last season.

Moen is the fifth Fighting Sioux player to be honored by the Women's Division II Bulletin. Jenny Crouse earned third-team honors in 1997 and first-team honors in 1998 and 1999. Tiffany Pudenz earned third-team honors in 1998, while Jaime Pudenz earned second-team honors in 1999 and Theresa LeCuyer earned first-team honors last season.
