Grand Forks, ND – University of North Dakota junior Becky Moen (Morris, MN) has been named to the 2002 Daktronics, Inc. Division II Women's Basketball All-America Team selected by members of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) it was announced today. Moen made the second of three teams, a list headed by the Daktronics, Inc. Player of the Year, senior Lauri McIntosh of two-time national champion Cal Poly Pomona.
Moen, who was a five-time North Central Conference Player of the Week and the league's co-MVP, led North Dakota and the NCC in scoring at 22.7 points per game as well as free throw percentage (.849). Moen was the MVP of the NCC Wells Fargo Finals and named to both the Kodak and Women's Division II Bulletin All-America teams earlier this spring. Her 657 points for the season broke the previous UND mark of 600 (set by Jennifer Crouse in 1999). Moen was also Academic All-NCC and a member of the Verizon Academic All-District VII second team.
Moen joins Jennifer Crouse (1996, 1998 and 1999), Tiffany Pudenz (1998), Jaime Pudenz (1999) and Theresa LeCuyer (2001) as North Dakota's Daktronics, Inc. All-Americans.
North Dakota finished the season 24-5 and advanced to the semifinal round of the North Central Region tournament where the Sioux fell, 66-57, to Southwest State.
