Grand Forks, ND — The University of North Dakota women's basketball team has been chosen by the league's coaches to repeat as the women's basketball champions of the North Central Conference.
The Fighting Sioux posted a 15-3 NCC mark last season to win their seventh NCC title since 1990. UND finished the season with an overall record of 29-4 and reached the NCAA Division II national championship game before falling in overtime to Cal Poly Pomona.
North Dakota was chosen as the champions by seven of the ten coaches with two second-place and one fourth-place votes. North Dakota State, St. Cloud State and South Dakota each received one first-place vote.
