Tournament Notes: For the second-straight year, UND has been selected as
the site for the North Central Regional tournament. The three-day
tournament starts Friday at 6 p.m. and will conclude with Sunday’s 6
p.m. championship contest.

The winner of this tournament advances to the NCAA Division II Elite
Eight held March 17-20 in Pine Bluff, Ark. The North Central Region
champ will meet the South Atlantic Region champ in the quarterfinal
round.

The tournament ticket package is $28. The package, which is for reserved
seating, will be available to UND season ticketholders and Fighting
Sioux Club members Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the
Hyslop Sports Center ticket office. The tournament package will be
available to the public Wednesday at 9 a.m. at UND and at any
Ticketmaster outlet.

Individual game tickets go on sale Friday at 9 a.m. at UND and at any
Ticketmaster outlet. Reserved tickets are $10. Adult general admission
tickets are $8 and college and high school students, with an ID, are $5.

Team Notes: NORTH DAKOTA is making its 13th trip to the NCAAs and 10th
consecutive. The Fighting Sioux won the North Central Conference and
have a 26-1 record ... South Dakota State is 20-7 and coached by Nancy
Neiber. The Jackrabbits, who finished third in the NCC, are making their
sixth NCAA appearance and first since 1996 ... Augustana is 18-9 and is
coached by Dave Krauth. The Vikings are making their seventh NCAA
appearance and first since 1997 ... Nebraska-Kearney won the Rocky
Mountain Athletic Conference and is 26-3. Amy Stephens is the head coach
and has the Lopers in their fourth-straight NCAA tournament ...
Minnesota-Duluth won the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and is
18-9. The Bulldogs are coached by Karen Stromme who has the squad in its
third NCAA tournament and first since 1996 ... North Dakota State is
making its 14th straight trip to the NCAA postseason and is coached by
Amy Ruley. The Bison went 23-4 this season ...

Last Action: Jenny Crouse scored 27 points to go with 11 rebounds and
seven blocked shots to power UND to a 62-53 win over Nebraska-Omaha.
Crouse’s performance allowed her to become the NCC’s all-time leader in
scoring and rebounds.

Jenny Hoffner had a career-high 17 points to lead UND to the 85-60 win
over Northern Colorado to close the regular season.

Player of Week: For the sixth time this season, North Dakota had a
player named NCC Player of the Week. Katie Richards was named Feb. 8.
She was also picked on Dec. 14. Crouse was chosen Jan. 4, 18 & 25, while
Pudenz was selected Dec. 21.

NCC Notes: Crouse finished as the NCC leader in scoring (20.7 ppg),

league in assists (6.56 apg) ... Richards led in three-point field goal
percentage (47.2 percent) ... The Fighting Sioux also led in eight team
categories ...

Hanging A Hundred: The 124 points scored in the win over Morningside was
the second-highest total in school history. UND’s 109-point ouput
against Minnesota-Morris this season is the fifth-highest all-time. The
Fighting Sioux have reached the mark seven times this season, second
only to last season’s record eight appearances. UND has reached the
100-point mark 39 times in school history, including at least once the
past eight seasons. Here are the top five all-time scores:

Notes: After scoring the season-high 30 points against St. Cloud State,
Pudenz is in 11th place in the all-time scoring chart with 1,166 points
... She is second all-time in assists (515) and in career steals (201)
... Pudenz, after making five three-point field goals against South
Dakota, is third all-time in that category (161) ... She also has a
career-high 185 assists ... Kami Winger is ninth in career points
(1,215) and is third in rebounds (881) ... She is also fourth in free
throws made (281) ... UND’s senior class has won 111 of its 123 games,
91 of its last 100 and 49 of the last 50 ... UND’s senior class has won
100-or-more games the past three seasons ...

Polls: The Fighting Sioux were ranked first in this season’s 10th
WBCA/USA Today poll.

200 and Counting: The Fighting Sioux have made a three-point field goal
in 242 consecutive contests. The last time UND did not make a
three-point field goal was in a 61-59 win at North Dakota State on Feb.
23, 1991.

UND Head Coach Gene Roebuck: One of the most successful coaches in
basketball with a record of 303-52 (.854), Roebuck ranks third among
active NCAA Division II coaches in winning percentage. Roebuck, who is
in his 12th season, is assisted by Darcy Deutsch, Sheri Kleinsasser and
Tiffany Pudenz. UND has won six NCC titles during his reign.

Broadcast: The Fighting Sioux basketball games are broadcast via the
Fighting Sioux Radio Network. KCNN-AM (1590) in Grand Forks serves as
the flagship station. Jim Bollman serves as the play-by-play voice while
Scott Swygman offers color commentary.
