Carol
J. Pretlow is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at
Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia as well as the Director
of the Center for Strategic and Global Studies. A Political Science
graduate of Fisk University, Nashville Tennesee,. Professor Pretlow also
holds an M.A in Mass Communications from Norfolk State University,
Juris Doctor (JD) from the Washington College of Law at American University
in Washington D.C., and a Masters in International Legal Studies (LL.M)
from the Washington College of Law. In 1997, Professor Pretlow was invited
to continue research as a fellow in National Security Law at W.E.B.
Du Bois Institute for African-American Research at Harvard University
in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Developing an interdiscplinary analysis
of national security law, the professor utilized an historical perspective
to examine the core subject "National Security Law: Political Criminality
and Revolutionary Politics in the African-American Community ".
Most Recently 2000-2001 Professor Pretlow was in the lead researcher
and project director for three research contracts from the Department
of Defense (DOD). Additionally, Professor has conducted workshops and seminars entitled
"Gender and the Law" for the Department of International Relations
and English at Tongji University in Shanghai, China.
Dr. Brinston
B. Collins is a graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia.
Earning a Masters Degree in Arab Studies from American University in Beirut and
a Ph.D. from Princeton University in Philosophy, Dr. Collins has traveled
the Middle East extensively and is an expert on Middle Eastern history,
politics and culture. With over 40 years of experience in the Middle East
and 30 years in the field of education, Dr. Collins has participated in
numerous forums, lecture series and conferences,both on the local and
national level. Fluent in Arabic, Dr. Collins has also studied at Harvard,
Carnegie Mellon University and West Point.

Dr.
Jesse L. Pendleton Jr is a full time Professor of Geography at
Norfolk State University. earning an M.S. and Ph.D degree from Clark
University in Worcester, Massachusetts, Dr. Pendleton has published numerous
articles which are available upon demand. With over 30 years over experience
in the area of education, Dr. Pendleton has traveled Latin America and
Europe extensively and is an expert in the areas of Latin America, Urban
Geography, Political Geography, Physical Geography, Human and Cultural
Geography, and Critical Thinking.
Dr. Emeka
Okoli is an Associate Professor of Mass Communications at
Norfolk State University. Earning a Ph.D. from Howard University in
Washington D. C. in Human Communication Studies with specialization in
Organizational and Intercultural Communication and a Masters Degree from
Regent University in Television programming and Photo journalism. With
over 20 years in the academic arena, Dr. Okoli is a specialist in the
areas of Trans-cultural leadership development studies, cross cultural
studies and exchange, diversity studies, organizational communication
with specialization in intercultural communication, public speaking, mass
communication, photojournalism, and intra/interpersonal communication.
Dr. Okoli's publications include Taking Care of Business: A Manual For
Doing Business Across National And Cultural Boundaries and Organizational
Entry, Socialization, and Assimilation: A Study of 'Brain Drain' and the
Assimilation of African Students in the United States.

Dr. Aubrey
Escoffery is a graduate of Columbia University in New York City. Earning
a M.A in Psychology as well as a Postdoctoral Certificate: Institute for
Rational Psychotherapy and a Ph.D from the University of Connecticut,
Dr. Escoffery is a Clinical Psychologist. His past appointments include
Provost/Executive Vice President at Edwards Waters College Jacksonville,
Florida, Executive Assistant to the Chancellor at Elizabeth State University,
Professor of Psychology at Both Hampton University and Norfolk State University.
Dr. Escoffery has authored many research publications and articles such
as Attitudes and Opinions of the Virginia Legislature and Civil Right
Militancy Scale: Personality and Behavior Correlates of Afro-American
Belief in "Fate Control". While he has over 40 Years of experience
in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Escoffery has traveled the globe extensively
from Africa to the Americas. His professional memberships include: The
American Psychological Association, Association of Black Psychologists,
Psi Chi, and Who's Who in the South and Southwest.
Professor Maurice
Cole is a an Assistant Professor of History at Norfolk State University.
An Alum of Norfolk State University, Professor Cole obtained a M.A. degree
in History/International Relations from Northwestern University in Evanston,
IL. Having traveled Africa and the Middle East extensively, Professor
Cole is also a Hays-Fullbright Fellow as well as the recepient awards
and accomendations from the U.S. State Department, Phi Alpha Theta and
the National Geographic Society.

Dr. Rudolph Wilson is the Head of the Political Science Department
at Norfolk State University. Earning a B.A. degree from Howard University,
a Master's of Arts degree from SUNY Binghampton, and a Ph.D. Atlanta University,
Dr. Wilson has over a quarter of a century worth of research and professional
experience in the political process. Dr. Wilson has conducted research
on a wide variety of area ranging from housing and employment to the Census
information for the U.S.Bureau of Census. Demographics Studies, Public
Policy and Board Member of the Virginia Board of Forestry are the positions
for which he has recorded expertise. He has published numbers papers and
publications such as "Social Welfare Policy and the Low Income Community,
Impact, The Impact of Redistricting of Minority Empowerment in 1990"
and "Racial Minorities Empowerment in the 1990's: the Politics of
Redistricting."
