Satellit 205 Dismantling procedure. Helpful to remove bulbs, dial cord or to clean contacts.

Also applies to the Ocean Boy 205/207/208, except ignore references to drum tuner. (eg/ step 4)

As usual, all procedures are carried out at your own risk, although the procedure is fairly simple. If you have any queries, E-mail Thomas (visit the website) with reference to Satellit 205, or me with reference to Ocean Boy 205/207/208. I have the Ocean Boy 205, but I don't have a Satellit 205!

Most steps are accompanied by a photo.

1. Remove 4 Knobs on the front, ON / OFF and fine tuning knob are held by small screws!

2. Open back hatch by removing screw(s)  (Some Satellit 205’s have two screws, some only one.)

3. Remove antenna by removing two screws. Closed antenna can be removed by pulling downward.

4. Remove drum-tuner knob by removing the screw. Pull knob to remove. (Satellit 205 only)

4. Remove body screws ( two left...

...two right near the loudspeaker... These are 5,5 mm nuts!) This photo is the Satellit, Ocean Boy nuts are in a slightly different location.

5. Pull chassis carefully backward, so you can open two important screws located in the top. Remove both screws  from body inside. Pic shows left-hand screw

6. Move top console through the opening there.

7. Lay the device down:   (Make sure the battery wires do not get torn off when laying chassis down) To detach the dial remove 4 indicated screws.

8. Remove black coloured dial, then remove 4 indicated screws to access the contacts.

9. Clean the contacts by tuner-spray or contact-spray. ( 2 of them are marked )

Re-assembly of the radio is the reverse of the above steps.
