yellow bracelet. an ESR poem
She held glow in the dark in the palm of her hand as she looked out the window and saw blurry headlights streak across the rainy glass. Experiences flew by like buzzing bees with a purpose. She didn't know her purpose yet, clutching desparately at the blue fabric. She didn't want to know because her desolation would become a soaked-through cactus. She transported herself. Suddenly she was that white house built around what could never be avoided. Yet she moved on. She returned to the rope bridge overlooking the water-covered mosaic tiles. The shadow standing next to her faded with time. The bridge rotted and fell into the now-cracked tiles. She swam into the cave and the fading shadow followed her. The matches wouldn't light and she couldn't burn the shadow. Instead she embraced it Italian-style and never wanted to let go. But she fell off the bridge and suffocated under the fading shadow.
