Amphetamine Love My amphetamine girl, she defies the laws The laws of gravity, but soon enough she’ll trip And fall from the sky to me My bohemian queen, princess of the scene Lying on her back, Lying on her back for me Walk with me, through the graves and through the trees Help me breath, the air is vanishing The smoke has choked all the beautiful leaves And I don’t mind, I do believe My amphetamine girl, I like to look in her eyes They’re as big as the world; I wish she wasn’t so high She’s got amphetamine love (repeats) Can’t you see her fly like a butterfly, under the chemical clouds? |
Song Background This is another song about those nasty addictions, not only Methamphetamines but also that pesky drug called love. And the addiction shared between both, the joys and downfalls, the despair and hope. I put the girl and meth together to get an addict and I became the addict of love by claiming this " amphetamine girl " to be mine. The end result a fast punk style song evoking the sound of Meth more so than it's sporratic word phrasings. The only chorus is a gentle acoustic downfall into minimalist beauty to my favorite line "I wish she wasn't so high." -Brian- |
