Aurora

I’m watching angels burn and fall to their feet
The sky it turns to swallow me
The earth it turns to us to say
Heaven has broken now runaway
I’ll close my eyes; I’ll touch the sky, and pray
Oh I’ll close my eyes, I’ll shut them tight, and say

Can no one see what’s in my dreams?
To hold on to the better things,
Oh I’ve needed more than I’ve ever had before

The sky is not what it always seems
Faces now they haunt my dreams
And rain won’t wash away my pain
Nor tears from heaven, or lies from snakes
I’ll close my eyes; I’ll touch the sky, and pray
Oh I’ll cut them out, I’ll scream, and shout, and say

(1st chorus +)
And the pain that I see in your eyes
Is the only thing that keeps me blind
Oh I’ve needed more than I’ve ever had before

Aurora, Aurora, Aurora you’ve broken in two (repeat)
The core lyrics of Aurora were written about the war and genocide of the angels in heaven. It is written in a first person narrative detailing the events of the war unfolding before me (the main character.)
The title was originally " The Aurora Borealis Effect," in reference to the hole in the ozone layer.
The Aurora is used as a metaphor to where heaven splits and spills the angels to Earth, bringing the war into the flesh.

For More on Aurora you can read the poem
"Battle For The Clouds of Honey "
which also refers to the war in Brian's Corner.
