Spring and summer are perhaps the best time to visit Uruguay, when every place from great rivers to smallest creeks get plenty of a flourishing aquatic life. From October to March, is time to explore and get amazed with the jewels hidden by these unpolluted environments. - Short on day trips focusing the southern basins of Rio de la Plata, Yi River, Santa Lucia River and Atlantic drainage
- Three and four day collecting trips cover the westbound and the center, or the eastbound and the center.
- They can be enlarged including any other section or making more emphasis in any specific part of the itineraries.
- Long collecting trip of six days gives an almost complete picture of the eastbound, the northbound and the center.
- One day collecting trips starting and arriving in Montevideo complete this panorama allowing to choose within the four options.
- All of these can be done in one package always departing and arriving at Montevideo, lodging in the same Hotel.
- Combinations of all these options can cover all the territory depending upon weather and participants preferences about places and species.
- A ten day collecting trip would be the ideal to complete all the main locations.
- Lodging in the field are supposed to be in Melo, Tacuarembo, Artigas, Salto, Durazno and Colonia. This may change by request depending on historic sites/ landmarks visits arranged previously.
