hkdg2092 wow, how could have put zi wei all the way on the bottom? juss cuz she a weakln and she always sick? dang gurl, u cant blame for her weakness! she blocked the dagger from hittn the emperor! thats not brave enough, dont know what else could be called brave. plus throughout both series she was the calm and "sane" one. when xiao yan zi was mad at the prince for the stupidest things (i didnt like those parts, to me it seemed like she was tryn to have everything her way) zi wei was there to calm xiao yan zi down, she also helped han xiang escaped.... o bout her, u like han xiang b/c she can dance, hey zi wei can sing! plus u think zi wei all perfect? well she cant fight can she? and the prince, if it was me i would be jealous too seeing ma girlfriend/fiance always so close w/ another guy, he's a guy, plus xiao yan didnt seem to care what the prince thought for awhile, also dang he left the palace, where he was a prince, a possible future king tobe with xiao yan zi, he left a place where he is rich, has somewhat of a power, good life for love! thats the coolest thing anyone could eva do! |

Connie Tran I'm afraid that I have to agree with hkdg2092, at least in the Xia Zi Wei part. You shouldn't not like someone just because they have bad health, I believe that it was pretty normal around that time. Also, Zi Wei/Gi May has her faults as well, like in HZGG3, she actually pushed away her son when she told Er Kang/Yi Hong that she would take care of him and love him. That action was a part of a broken promise. And she is brave, not to mention loyal. The dagger is a good example of that, and in HZGG2 in the scene after they find the voodoo doll, Zi Wei/Gi May took the finger-snapping and the blame that it was she who made the doll, when it wasn't. Just so that the Emperess Dowager and Emperess would leave the others. Also, Meng Dan/Moe Dahn knows Martial Arts as well, I don't understand why he isn't near the top if you like people who know Martial Arts. |

ghostdarTeal'c First of all, i want to emphasis here that I LOVE XIAO YAN ZI. i dont really like Zi Wei, but i dont hate her. and your comments about her is just way too unacceptable. You can't possibly judge a person by his/her health. say, if you had a cancer and everyone hates you because of that, wouldnt you feel that its unfair? health is what God give us, it is not what we can ask for. second, you're saying Zi Wei isn't brave?? girl, are you sure you watched the right HZGG? coz the Zi Wei i know is as brave as anyone else on the series can be, if not braver. Zi Wei might not be as outward as Xiao Yanzi in expressing her dissatisfaction, (hell, XYZ's rebellious, even i want her to kick the empress' butt) but hey, considering that she was raised with princess' ettiquets, she is supposed to be gentle and quiet, her mom did hella good job on that. Connie said my points already. XYZ might be an open resistant by nature, but ZW is a *sacrificer*. at least that should count as brave! now, you hate Qian Long for having too many concubines? girl, tell me one emperor in chinese dinasty who doesnt have concubines. furthermore, QL was not just ANY emperor, he was one of the greatest ruler of all dinasty, even him having 3000 concubines shouldnt be a question. he expressed such deep feelings toward his children (plus one who wasnt even his and was once a peasant), that is one of the unbelievable thing about an emperor Qiong Yau tried to take out. at least he had to be believable....that is concubines. what....you really think the real Qian Long had only 1 empress and 10 concubines, is it? and him getting angry for his children for stealing a concubine....girl, it is about his pride as an emperor. you really think when you have all the things and power (and i thought an emperor is supposed to be God's messenger in Chinese ancient belief) in the world in your hands and then you'd just give in when someone steals your wife and that your children helped? think like an emperor than you'll get the idea....if you want to think with 16-year-old teenager's modern thinking ....you better forget it. you'd never make it to become a director or scriptwriter or anything similar to those. |

Webmistress REPLY TO POST MADE BY GHOSTDARTEAL'C (This is only some healthy debating ;). ) I'm not going to comment much about my rating on Zi Wei. Many people have already emailed me complaining that I put Zi Wei far too down the list. However, I never said this website is a fair one. It expresses my opinions ONLY. I don't absolutely hate Zi Wei either, but that doesn't mean that comparing her to other characters I don't like some of those better. And just to let you all know, I guess some of my opinion about Zi Wei is coming from my opinion of the actress (her as a person, I mean), which is not a very positive one. That is probably not the right way to think, but hey, I'm only human. Now about Qian Long. This time, I'm completely okay with the actor. He was great! I know all the emperors had many concubines. But I can't help feeling that in the story line of Huan Zhu Ge Ge Qian Long's love for so many women made him seem disgusting. You speak of me thinking as a modern 16-year-old girl, but isn't the entire Huan Zhu Ge Ge series based on modern thinking? In real history, why would an "a ge" who is probably going to become an emperor leave his fortunes for a commoner? Also, Yong Qi, Xiao Jian and Er Kang wouldn't have just fallen for one girl and promised to love her forever. |

YBY How can u put zi wei under saiya? R U crazy??? First of all, yes I like xiao yan zi (not vicki zhao though), but zi wei is so much more important. Sure she cries alot, is the weakest in health and doesn't know how to fight but u think xiao yan zi can? Zi wei only cries alot because all the bad things happen to her and she unlike xiao yan zi actually thinks about the situations and tries to help everyone. She's very sick because she gets stabbed by a knife, peirced with needles, beat with sticks, whipped, jammed in the fingers, and alot of other mental torments as well. Hell, if xiao yan zi was treated that way, she woul've died alon time ago, either from the pain or suicide. Without zi wei, there would be no xiao yan zi. Have u ever realized how selfish xiao yan zi is? Okay, zi wei is blind and helpless and xiao yan zi forgets about her just because there is people playing chess.0.0 what the hell was wrong with her??? Jin suo is okay,she's not the outstanding kind of character and for a maid, she's really um... un-shy. I dunno why, but i didn't like watching xiang fei and meng dan, the actors don't really fit together. Er kang (Zhou Jie is so hot!!!), I love him soooooooooooooooo much, he's my fav!!!! So romantic and clever and everything good, plus his kun fu is awsome. Yong qi, i really hated (not Alec Su, he's cute). He seemed to go with xiao yan zi too much, even when she is clearly wrong. Like, when she lost zi wei, yong qi got mad at er kang because er kang was mad at xiao yan zi. Well duh, if they were switched, yong qi will probably murder zi wei if she had lost xiao yan zi (that'd never happen). Here's how it should go, Er Kang, Zi Wei, Er Tai, Wu Ar Ge (Yong Qi), Jin Suo, and so on. Saiya definately has to be last, she's a living nightmare... |

HZGG_Addicted Zi Wei 11th place? she is like a perfect woman/friend/wife. she's kind, understanding, loving, prettier & more reasonable than XYZ. the only thing i can think of that's her weakness is she's too dependent of Er Kang in HZGG 3, but that's about it. Health? hmm, i don't dislike people for being weak, beside, she's weaker than XYZ because she doesn't train martial art or do exercise, but she's got a head 10 million times above XYZ's level. in life, you live by your head, not by your strength, tsk tsk. XYZ's character is just to make the show more lively at times, but to be honest, 5th prince has got to be crazy to choose her as a wife really .... i mean, even i don't like to have a wife that's so tomboyish, partyly stupid in term of understanding the situation - hot headed .... (also, in real life, usually not many men wanna marry girls that can't even understand reasoning - well, unless the man is also the brawn-no-brain type :P) - and it's been proven, with a wife like that, 5th prince is always troubled compare to Er Kang who has a kind wife. About the emperor, i'll use this: "guess some of my opinion about Zi Wei is coming from my opinion of the actress". if you're talking about the actor? well, i think the actor in HZGG1&2 for the emperor is like the best outthere for an emperor. the emperor talks so reasonable all the time - except when he's seducing the girls both in HZGG2 and in HZGG3 (for the HZGG3 i even hate the stupid actor as well - that guy's just too gay) the emperor definitely stands above most people. sure he's perverted, but hey, i would call that a man's usual characteristic - even Er Kang and 5th Prince is on the same boat, even though they say they just want 1 wife for their entire life, it doens't change the fact that they wanna get married fast (beginning of HZGG2 - they were saying the emperor does thing too slow for them) so they can be with their wives. Here's a ranking that should be agreed by many people: Er Kang, Zi Wei, Qing Er, Xiao Jian, Qian Long, Yong Qi, XYZ and so on .... |

Peiyi First of all, I definitely see where you're coming from on a lot of these character ratings. But I really have to say that XiaoYanZi irritated the hell out of me in the second series. I loved her so much in the first series, as I did everyone. But after seeing the second series, my respect for everyone but YongQi and to a certain extent ErKang dropped quite a lot. Especially XiaoYanZi, who is selfish to the point where I can barely stand to watch her without getting pissed as hell. She takes YongQi for granted like nothing else. While he devoted his life and made tremendous sacrifices for her, she just goes on treating him like he's not important at all. When he was jealous of XiaoJian, she didn't consider his feelings whatsoever, and always considered XiaoJian so much more important than him (like when XiaoJian didn't want to go to BeiJing with them, she was all ready to break off all ties with YongQi for a brother who hadn't planned on accepting her in the first place). When YongQi tried to make her understand the smart thing to do when XiaoGeZi came along (to not add another member to their group), she was too dumb, selfish, and impulsive to see through it. Ok, I won't rant anymore. But man did she piss me off in the second series. Great site by the way. I found a lot of terrific stuff here, like HZGG III reviews, and actor reviews. It's always good to see others' take on things. ^______^ |

raccoon 99 I just want to let you know that I absolutely hate Ruby Lin's version of zi wei. She's so weak and cries all the time. I mean, how is crying supposed to solve any problems?! I totally agree with you for putting her way down on the ratings page. In truth, I don't like huan zhu ge ge at all. The people are all so forgiving and it makes me feel like I wanna punch them. The third one's okay, though. I don't like xiao yan zi either, and I think the emperor is really really really screwed up. A lot of people would probably curse me off for saying all this, but maybe I feel this way because I'm all into jin yong and kung-fu movies like she diao ying xiong zhuan. |
