Shalimar walks into Sanctuary from the garage and Adam motions her to the hologram projector. "I think that I have found Dr. Greenwood's new friend." He then shows her a picture.

"Dr. Blair Sandburg, PhD. Anthropology." Shalimar reads. "That's him alright."

"That is the professor that Steve said that she saved from getting hit by the light fixture earlier today. And here is some rather interesting information about our Dr. Sandburg." Adam shows Shalimar the data as Brennan and Emma walk up behind him to take a look at what their leader, ex-chief bioengineer at Genomex. The scientist who's research went into creating new mutants, when he found out why they were created he downloaded all their database and went into hiding to find new mutants. The first one that he found was Shalimar Fox. He found her holed up in a fleabag motel having not eaten in five days. Later Jesse Kilmartin joined the team as well. Jesse was from a well to do family and volunteered to join. Later they found Emma DeLauro, which in turn lead to them discovering Brennan Mulwray. Now with Adam, the five of the team which made up Mutant X were an impressive team, protecting new mutants and sometimes others from the clutches of Mason Eckhart and the GSA(Genetic Security Agency) who's cover corporation was Genomex.

"It says here that he also works with the Cascade PD, and that he rents a room at a Detective James Ellison's loft apartment." Emma says, "Kinda cute, if you ask me. I wonder how he got involved with the police though?'

They all smile at Emma's appraisal of the doctor. Then Adam ads, "He was a ride along with the detective for several years so that he could research for a paper on the closed society of a modern police department. That was what his dissertation was on." Adam then pulls up the dissertation on the hologram, "It says here that he didn't originally plan his dissertation on the police. It appears that his initial paper was to be on sentinels."

Brennan looks at Adam and asks, "Sentinels?"

Adam then pulls up Dr. Sandburg's undergraduate paper. "It says here," he says as he speed reads through the paper, being of heightened intelligence Adam was able to go very quickly through the information, "that sentinels are genetically predisposed to have all five and possibly a sixth sense heightened beyond that of ordinary people."

"Sounds like my feral senses. Are sentinels new mutants?" Shalimar asks Adam as she herself reads the paper.

"No, Shalimar, it says here that they have their senses naturally. It also says that they have to have a guide to help them in controlling their senses. That if they concentrate to much on one or more of their senses that they will zone out. They will go into a trance-like state. That is why they need guides to help pull them out of the trances and teach them how to use their senses."

"Just imagine if the GSA got a hold of a sentinel and their guide. We would all be in serious trouble." Brennan said. "Do you think that people like that exist?"

"Well, I have read some works by an anthropologist in the early 1900's named Sir. Richard Frances Burton, he did a study on precivilized sentinels in Paraguay. I haven't read anything else thought. Pretty obscure stuff." Adam answers Brennan's question.

"What kind of work does he do for the police department?" Brennan asks.

"He is a 'Special Civilian Consultant'," he says to Brennan. "I want you and Emma to keep an eye on Dr. Sandburg as well. We don't know what his intentions are toward Dr Greenwood."

"Yeah, I get the felling that he may already know about her new mutant powers by one of the things that he had said to her at her place."

"Does Dr. Greenwood know she is a new mutant?" Emma asks.

"I have no idea, that is why we have to proceed with caution. Remember how you reacted to finding out you were a new mutant, Emma." Adam replies.

"How can I forget, and the GSA chases after me, then you guys show up," Emma smiles at Adam and Shalimar.

They smile back and then Adam says to both Emma and Brennan, "You two have made a remarkable turnaround since then though."

They look at each other and Emma says, "Well, Adam, we have Shalimar, Jesse, and you to thank for that."

"I second that one." Brennan adds.

Adam, still grinning, points at the three of them and says, "You guys get all the rest you can, Emma and Brennan for your first day at school. And, Shalimar, so you can relieve Jesse as lookout."

"Yes sir!" the all say at the same time. They then give a bad imitation of a salute to Adam and turn and leave for their respective rooms. Adam just stands there and shakes his head. After he sees them off, he shuts down everything and turns on the security system and then heads off to bed himself. Tomorrow was gonna be a busy day.

Jesse sits in the silver Audi and watches the warehouse as Dr. Blair Sandburg walks out the door with Dr. Greenwood following him out. Adam had filled him in on who Blair was and everything that the rest of the team knew.

"See ya at school tomorrow, Blair"

"Great, would you like to take lunch together. I could take you out to that new pan-cultural restaurant that just opened. I think that you will love it."

"That sounds great, can't wait till then. Blair, thank you for a wonderful day. I think that you made it easier to start fresh in a new town. I am glad that I have a friend now."

"Are you kidding? I couldn't let you be alone in a big city like this. I am glad that you think of me as a friend and I am one."

Jesse with the aid of his Com-Link Ring heard every word.

"Bye," they said at the same time. Then Blair drove off in his '69 green Volvo.
