BURSA - Tutor Ozgen Imamoglu, who - it is claimed - committed the crimes of taking pornographic images/pictures of children and selling them on the internet, rape, attempted rape and kidnap, will be tried for 3 separate crimes which he committed in Bursa, with a demanded prison sentence of 80 years. Bursa Public Prosecutor Emin Ozler said that at the end of the investigation which lasted 2.5 months, the formal charge was ready and that in a few days a trial about the subject would be opened within a few days at Bursa Criminal Court. Ozler said that the 128 CD's, 16 video cassettes and computer seized in Imamoglu's house in the course of the investigation had been examined, and it had been established that he had committed the crimes of 'rape', 'attempted rape' and 'kidnap' in Bursa and Gaziantep.
Emin Ozler pointed out that the previous 'out of jurisdiction' verdict about Imamoglu covered the crimes of 'rape' and 'attempted rape' which were committed in Gaziantep.
Ozler said that defendant Imamoglu would be tried for the crimes of 'rape and attempted rape' while held in Gaziantep and for the crimes of 'lustful kidnap and attempted rape' while held in Bursa.
Imamoglu, who is in Bursa E Type prison, was brought in great secrecy to Bursa Court of Law the previous day, and a decision was made to detain him in his absence for the crimes of 'rape', 'kidnap' and 'attempted rape'
The three detention orders given in his absence for Imamoglu, who was brought before the Duty Petty-Sessions Court, were changed to orders given in his presence. According to the formal charge prepared by Bursa Public Prosecutor's Office, an 80-year prison sentence will be demanded for Imamoglu, just for the crimes which he committed in Bursa.
Trials about the defendant, who will be tried in the Criminal Court, will also be opened for the crimes of 'rape' and 'attempted rape' in Gaziantep. If Ozgen Imamoglu, who was fined 1,875 million lira ($1,500) for the crime of trading pornography on the internet, doesn't pay the money by Friday, another trial will be opened.(aa/dha)
