ANKARA - While the school where tutor / psychological advisor Ozgen Imamoglu - revealed to have abused children and traded porn on the internet - worked was closed, the directors were also penalised.
The National Education Ministry (MEB) has completed its investigation into Bursa Private "First Sun" High School teacher Imamoglu. The ministry made these decisions: "Bursa Private 'First Sun' High School, Private 'First Sun' Primary School and Private 'First Sun' Primary School Yildirim Branch - connected to the Hidayet Education, Health and Brotherhood Religious Foundation - will be permanently closed after the school year ends. The transfer of students to schools will be done under the supervision of the national education headquarters. No teaching post will be given to Ozgen Imamoglu in either state or private education establishments. Private 'First Sun' Schools' former primary school head Yucel Aslan and former high school head Mehmet Alkan will not be able to act as directors in private education establishments."
Separately in the statement, it was explained that a disciplinary assessment had been made of Imamoglu. Ozgen Imamoglu was arrested at home last December as part of the international 'Landmark Operation' about child pornography and abuse.
It was claimed that Imamoglu, in whose house were found numerous child pornography CDs and video cassettes, had raped many children in Bursa and previously Gaziantep (where he had worked before), taken nude photographs of them and traded the photographs on the internet. Imamoglu was arrested for the crimes of 'selling pornographic images/pictures of children on the internet, rape, attempted rape and molestation'. As for the school management, they said they would contest the ministry's decision. (aa)
