28/05/2002 (Radikal) - The biggest porn archive

A gang which sold porn films on the internet has been captured, together with an archive of 10,000 CD's. There was also foreign child porn among the films. One of the accused is a retired non-commissioned officer.

İSTANBUL - A four-man gang, which was selling thousands of porn CD's - among which were also films made in Turkey - on the internet, was arrested in Ankara and Istanbul Security Division teams' 'Net-Archive' operation. It was determined that porn in which five to six year old girls took part was being sold for for between 100 and 200 dollars. Kemal Yildirim, who retired as an invalid after being paralysed as a result of an accident while working at Alarko Holding, said "We couldn't meet the demand."

In the course of the operation, the 'www.pornomik.com' site - which sold CD's with pornographic content on the internet - was monitored, and five CD's were ordered. After determining that two of the pornographic CD's which arrived were Turkish, and three of them were foreign, the operation began.

Police raiding an empty warehouse in Sisli the previous day, arrested Adem Dikici, who was duplicating the master porn CD's. Three computers, four CD writers, two scanners, a pistol loaded with blanks, and approximately 10,000 porn CD's were seized in the warehouse. Police, continuing the operation in the light of Dikici's statement, arrested ringleader Yildirim, his father retired non-commissioned officer Mehmet Yildirim and Ahmet Adnan Birim.

After becoming paralysed, he started the gang

According to information from Police Headquarters, one of the accused, Kemal Yildirim - who admitted to selling porn CD's - was paralysed in a traffic accident three years ago, while working as a computer expert at Alarko Holding. Yildirim retired as an invalid, and entered the porn business. Yildirim - who advertised porn CD's on the 'www.pornomik.com' web site which he founded - sent the CD's to customers who had deposited money in his bank account. Dikici and Birim duplicated the master porn CD's and - on Kemal Yildirim's instruction - sent them by cargo delivery companies to customers who had deposited money.

It became clear that the gang, which was questioned at Security Division Headquarters, had sold porn CD's in which five to six-year-old girls took part. It was stated that the gang which sold porn films, including Turkish made films, for 3 to 4 million lira, also sold child porn for between 100 and 200 dollars. Scenes were found in which the foreign girls in the films were crying as adults had sex with them. It was revealed that the children might have been kidnapped and forced to take part in the films. Yildirim said that he had been doing this work for about two years and that they hadn't forced anyone to do anything. "I don't know how the films were made. I only market them to my customers on the internet. There was a great deal of demand. I was taking tens of orders every day. Sometimes we weren't able to get the CD's to the customers." The suspects were taken to Sisli law court. While the public prosecutor set Mehmet Yildirim free, the others were put before the court. The court, fining the three people 2,856 million lira ($2,000) each, ruled that they should be tried without being held.

General Police Headquarters Central Security Division Head Mutlu Celik stated that 'Net-Archive' was the biggest porn CD operation.

Celik, revealing that they had established the 564 people who had bought CD's from the gang, stated that they had sent the foreign-made child pornography to Interpol. (Radikal)
