In Gaziantep, T.A. (17) - one of the victims who, it is claimed, was raped by 'pornographer teacher' Ozgen Imamoglu - stabbed to death his friend Adem Gulpinar (19), with the motive that he had suggested sexual intercourse to him.
In the incident which occurred one night ago in a house in Ulas District's Bagdatli Street, Gulpinar - convicted for theft - and his friend T.A. drank alcohol together. It is alleged that Gulpinar, who became drunk in the later hours of the night, suggested that they have sex. Following on from this, T.A. stabbed his insistent friend and cold-bloodedly watched Gulpinar die from loss of blood from the wound. T.A. later carried the body down to the house's basement, covered it with lime to stop the smell spreading, and fled.
The cold-blooded murder emerged after Gulpinar's absence was noticed.
Police, going to the house after a tip-off, found Gulpinar's lime-covered body in the basement. T.A., arrested during the investigation and confessing to the crime, gave this statement:
"Adem Gulpinar suggested that we have sex. I refused. He insisted, and molested me. I couldn't bear it, and stabbed him. What he did was wrong, and he had to die, so I killed him."
The following statements about T.A. were in the formal charge for the case against pornographer Ozgen Imamoglu, who was arrested in Bursa, and whose prosecution in Gaziantep 1st Criminal Court has begun with a possible jail sentence of up to 20 years:
"In the investigation, T.A revealed that in 1999, Imamoglu - who was a tutor in the school which he was attending at that time - got him drunk by offering him raki, video-taped raping him, then made him watch the tape. A.T. said that the rapes continued later in Malatya and Bursa. In the scrutiny of pictures from among the documents which came from the Bursa Public Prosecutor's office, and in the evaluation of statements taken by Gaziantep Police Headquarters, the conclusion was reached that while he was posted in Gaziantep, Imamoglu had raped T.A. - who was under 15 years old at the time - more than once."
