FAQ/Rules

Hi. ^_^ Welcome to the Suikoden 3 FAQ and rules page. Here I'll be detailing any frequently asked question, rules and other guidelines for the RPG plus a few misc. things that need to be stated here. So before bugging the GM's with your questions, please read below to see if any of them are answered for you. We put this page up for a reason. It should be easy to follow. If no, you can email the GM's and they'll be glad to help you out. You are responsible for reading and understanding this page and failure to do so will slightly piss off the GM's, so don't do it.
Introduction
The Suikoden 3 RPG takes place before the actual events in the game. In fact, players don't even have to follow the actual storyline in order to progress. We'd prefer if you didn't follow the storyline and be more creative with your writings, makes things more interesting that way. ^_^

Reserving Characters
We understand that people don't have an opportunity to finish the game right away, so we do allow people to reserve characters to apply for at a later date. Characters will be reserved for up to two weeks. If we do not see an application for that character within that timeframe, we will place them back on the available list. No exceptions!

Applications
For more detailed information about the applications, please return to the menu and choose "Applications" or follow this link.
If you're not accepted, you can apply again for the same character if they aren't taken already. However, we're only giving you fives shots to prove yourself and after that we will not accept anymore applications from the same person. If you can't get in after five tries, then maybe you should just observe rather than participate, hmmmm?

You're Accepted!
Congratulations. You are now a member of the Suikoden 3 RPG. Now you need write chapters for your character. We will give one month to get your first chapter out and two months for any other chapters after that. Just a few things to look out for when writing your chapters:
1) Do not include any PC characters that are already taken unless you have permission from that player first. If you use PC's that are already taken, it just messes up plotlines for not only yourself, but other people as well.
2) You may use a PC character that is not taken, but try not to use them too much, as the person who is applying for them will have to work harder to get them out of your current plotline and work that character into theirs.
3) If you're co-writing with another player, try not to take forever to get your part of the chapter out as the others may want to proceed with their storyline. You're just holding things up for others if you procrastinate.
4) A PC that's been dormant for over two months (one month if the first chapter hasn't been written) will be put under MIA (Missing in Action). After two extra weeks inactivity, that character will be put back onto the list of available characters for someone else to apply for. If you feel that you are going to be away for a while (and we totally understand, we have lives too ^_^), email us and we'll put the character on hold for you.
5) Do not kill off any PC's whether they be taken or not. No ifs ands or buts! You may however kill off any NPC's provided that you have a fairly good reason for doing so.
6) I forgot one important thing! Check, double check, triple check your chapters for typos, grammar mistakes, slips of the tongues, etc. Nothing is worse than trying to read a chapter with many spelling errors in it. It takes away from the story and it doesn't show too nicely to other members of the RPG.

General Behaviour on the BBS
The majority of people know how to act on public places such as message boards and chat. However, a minority of people don't. Here are a few guidelines when posting on the GS3 message board.
1) NO SPAMMING! - Do not go to the MB for the sole purpose of plugging in your site, your friend's site, a porn site or any other site.
2) Be polite! - Acting in a rude matter will not only annoy or piss off other members, it'll earn you a ban real quick.
3) Act Intelligent! - The last thing I want on the GS3 MB is a bunch of morons running rampant. Try to act intelligent, spell most of your words correctly and be clear about the point you want to get across.

General Behaviour on the Oekaki BBS
The Forum/BBS's guidelines are also applicable in the Oekaki BBS, but additional guidelines may be added as the RPG grows. Do read them carefully.
1) We will not judge on quality of art, but please be tasteful with your art. Try to keep it a PG-13 level or less. We reserve the right to remove any pics we deemed are inappropriate
2) Don't flame other people's art. Not does it make the artist feel bad, but it makes you look like a bully. If you can't say anything nice then put up or shut up.

FAQ
1) I have two characters already, may I apply for a third character?
You may, if we see that you are able to write for a third character. We'll only do this if you already had several chapters out for each character and that the chapters aren't too far apart. Ask the GM's if you can apply for a third character and we'll look into it.
2) Can we use characters from previous Suikoden games in the RPG?
This is a sticky subject. Unless they are returning to Suikoden 3, we're going to say no for PC characters, but will allow them as NPC's under certain circumstances. For example, Sharon is Milia's daughter, so we will allow Sharon's player and possibly Futch's or Bright's player to use Milia in the chapters as an NPC. Ask first if you want to use a character from a character from a previous Suikoden game.
3) Can we create our own runes?
Please mail us if you want to create your own rune. Tell us the name of the rune and what it does. If it's a spell rune, give us details of each level spell. Be reasonable with your requests, we don't want weird Runes like the Sex-change Rune floating about the Suikoden 3 world.
