Richard Clayderman's biography

Childhood

Richard Clayderman was born on 12/28/1953 in Paris. His name was Phillip Pages. Richard was known for his unique music talent as he was "famous" in his hometown. He had performed and composed piano pieces at the age of 7. His music talent was seen as more "fluent" than his mother tongue French.

Youth

Richard graduated with first grade distinction from the conservatorium of Paris when he was only 16. After that, he worked as a bank clerk during daytime, and he worked as an accompanist for famous singers at the time. Richard did not want to be a classical pianist. He met producers Paul de Senneville and Olivier Toussiant  where he accompanied for the singers.

Adulthood

Richard auditioned for the song "Ballade Pour Adeline", composed  by Paul de Senneville for his daughter, Adeline. Richard was chosen for playing the song, where ten pianists auditioned for the role. "Ballade Pour Adeline" was then famous  throughout the world. In 1984, Richard was crowned the title "Prince of romance" by Nancy Regan. The title was carried throughout the rest of his career. This title was a milestone for Richard's career.

Now

Richard Clayderman is the world's most successful pianist, according to Guinness World Records. His music has made romanticism alive. His classical approach with popular taste has touched people's hearts. Richard continues to influence the world with his romantic styles.
