Interest Project Patches, or IPPs, are the names of the patches that Cadettes and Seniors earn to put on the front of their sash or vest. You can find them in the resource book Interest Projects for Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts. And when you hear people say, "These aren't your grandmother's badges anymore," you know that they are absolutely right. Looking at a career in law? How about Law and Order? Finally got that license? Take a look at Car Sense. Ready to go live off the land? Try Outdoor Survival. These are just a few of your options!

So how do you earn an IPP? Well, one could say it's easy to understand the steps... However the actually doing of the projects are a bit moer difficult because these aren't Junior Badges anymore. You can't just sit down and do them. Each badge can take up to a few months to do, depending on how much work you want to put into them. Once you've picked a badge that you would like to earn, then you need to take a look at which activities you want to do. You must complete:

Two Skill Builder activites.

One Technology activity.

One Service Project activity.

One Career Exploration activity.

Two activites of your choice.

Make sure that you choose a badge that you want to work on. Just doing it because a friend is doesn't make you want to earn the badge. You can work on it in groups however, just make sure that everyone does the same amount of work. You may also tie in other activies that you do. Perhaps a school project helps out with a requirement. Count it in. Use your resources. But most importantly, have fun! So what are you waiting for? There's a whole world out there to explore!

IPP Form

Keep track of what you do. You'll need it if you go for the Silver or the Gold... Try using the IPP Form for this. It's a must-have for documentation. This is a Microsoft Word document.
