Catherine Daulton
Catherine Daulton

Is currently in Flagstaff Medical center. Her condition continues to improve daily, but we continue holding her before the Lord in prayer.

1200 N Beaver St.,  Flagstaff, Az 86001

Joe and Cynthia Daulton are continuing to ask all the saints for prayer. They also are touched by the amount of love shown to them in this hour of need.

The entire Daulton family is believing God will raise Catherine up. We ask the Lord for patience to hold onto our faith and wait upon the Lord.

The Lord is going to hear..... Let's pray for the girl now as we bow our heads.

Our heavenly Father, seemingly I just can't get it off my mind: the little girl there, dying, she's somebody's darling. She's Your creation, and Satan is robbing her of her young life. I pray that in Christ's Name, that You'll stay the hand of death, drive back that enemy. Thou, Lord, Who can make the Red Sea to wall up on either side and give the children of Israel, Thy heritage, a safe journey across the sea and into the promised land... God, we pray today that You'll move back every obstacle and let the child live. It's been given to us to ask. And as a group of people believing in Thee, we ask in Jesus' Name for the healing of the child. Amen.               The Church and Its Condition

Amber was released from the Hospital about 10 days after the accident. She is currently doing well and walking without crutches. The discomfort in her pelvic area where the pelvis was fractured, is practically gone.

All of us request you continue holding Amber up before the Lord. She is healing well praise God, but she [is] was devastated about Catherine. Please ask God to give her strength.

Her parents Bill and Penny Hawkes are grateful for all the prayers and support given to them and Amber by the Saints.

Now, remember. When... God has counted you worthy when you have a test. Now, don't fail this, to get this. When you have a trial, or a test, it shows the grace of God has found... You found favor with God. And God believes that you'll stand the test. ...

When it looks like everything's gone wrong, God's giving you a trial. He's got confidence in you. He don't have to baby you around. You're not a hotbed plant, a hybrid. You're a real Christian. God's giving you a test, see what you'll do about it. Amen.

No wonder Peter said, "These fiery trials, why, count it a joy. It's more precious to you than gold." And many times we hum and haw," Oh, well. If I just..." Well, that-well, that's something God give you to overcome. He knows you'll do it. He's put his trust in you.                  VICTORY DAY 4-21-63

Briefly, the night of the accident, Catherine and Amber were in Tucson for special meetings. It was about 9:30 pm when they were entering an intersection at a slow rate of speed. A drunken driver who was exiting a freeway ramp in a Cadillac, saw the girls, but was too inebriated to react. There were no skid marks at all. He broad sided their little car at approximately 60 MPH, as indicated in the above photos. Catherine had just moments before, removed her seat belt to reach something in the back seat. Because of the slight angle of the impact, the right side of the Cadillac's bumper pushed the back car door into the center of the car. At the same time this folded the bench seat into a V, pushing the girls into each others laps. Amber held onto consciousness, and was aware that Catherine had stopped breathing. She pleaded with her to hang on and not give up. As soon as someone said there was a pulse, Amber lost consciousness.

We don't know exactly how long Catherine was without breath. They sent her to the University Medical Center due to her trauma level. They approached the family immediately regarding the use of her organs. Amber was taken to a different hospital. The initial prognosis on Catherine was certainly grim. They said her neck was broken, her ribs were broken, and she was brain dead. Probably pretty accurate from a medical stand point. However, there was an immediate outpouring of prayer, and each medical report was different to the extent that it was hard to tell what was accurate. The staff concluded they must have read the wrong x-rays concerning her neck and ribs. They did an MRI and concluded that her brain stem was "sheared". The inference was that it was irreparable. The extent of the damage couldn’t be known until consciousness, which they didn’t expect. In spite of the negative reports, she gradually started to breathe on her own and the family was confident she was “there” by her responses. Within 7 days they felt she could be transported to Flagstaff by plane. They did a tracheotomy and inserted a feeding tube before leaving Tucson.

Amber was more fortunate, and suffered a fractured pelvis, a bruised spleen and "fractured" liver and some internal bleeding. She too, took an amazing turn of improvement after prayer. Enough so, she was able to be released within 7 days! They were transported to Flagstaff the same day, one by plane and the other by suburban. When the plane arrived in Flagstaff, the cloud cover made it impossible to land. Knowing the circumstances, a handful of people gathered at the church to pray and after the craft made its last circle before returning to Tucson, a small opening formed, allowing them to land. (They were not able to depart again until much later because of the clouds.)

On Thursday February 26th Catherine opened her eyes for the first time. On March 1st, Amber was able to attend church. Each day saw new improvement and the families hearts were full of faith.
