Golden Sun Djinn Guide

What is a Djinni?

A Djinni (plural: Djinn) is sort of a genie which helps you on your quest. A Djinni powers up your HP and PP, Attack, Defense, Agility or Luck. You can also use your Djinn in battle.

How to use a Djinni?

First, you need a Djinni (duh). Then set it to one of your partymembers. You have two choises: Set it or let it on standby. If you set it, your member will gain power and it's class and attacks may change. That way, you can test out over 200 combinations (though, most of them will give the same result - more about in the Class Guide in the future).

Each Djinni has a different ability. Like the Earth Djinni Flint will attack an enemy without any consequences, and the Jupiter Djinni Squall might paralyze the enemy. You can unleash a Djinni by selecting one in the Djinni-menu, shown at the button left. After using one in battle, the Djinni automatically will set it self to standby (the characters will color red).
You can set it again, by selecting it again in the next round.

If the Djinni is standby, you can summon it in battle! First set one or more Djinn(i) on standby and get in battle. Then go to the Summon menu (the button shown at the left here) and select a powerful God(-dess) to unleash. See at the Summon page for the available summons. After the Djinn were summoned, they need to spend time to recover. They will set theirselfs as your walk, or after several turns in battle. You recognize a Djinni standby, when it's colored yellow.

If you want to know more, push [select] (except for in battles or conversations) and go to Djinn Menu. Then push [select] again, for if you want to more about the Djinn.

Okay, off we go!

Name Fight? Location/How to get
FlintNoYou meet Flint right away, when you've left Vale
ForgeYesGoma Cave (BF1): you need to move the pillar first, so that you can hop over it later and get it.
GustNoIn Bilibin, go up the stairs near the sanctum. Walk over towngate to the ivy. Blow it away with Whirlwind and follow your way. Move the statue and your done.
GraniteNoIn Kolima, go to the house with the fence and Granite. Enter the house via the BACKDOOR - just enter the house from behind - and follow the path via the left all the way to the right. Now grab Granite.
BreezeYesYou can find Breeze at the highest branch of Tret Tree at the RIGHT side.
FeverNoWhen you're in Imil, go to the north. Move the snowman on the ice and go trough the fence on the ice. Move yourself to the waterfall and you'll face Fever right in front of your nose.
FizzNoFizz comes with Mia, after she've joined you.
MistYesIn the room with the six waterfalls (the room where you have to move from left to right), Mist is hided behind the fourth waterfall.
ZephyrYesYou have to solve a little puzzle first to get Zephyr. In the room with the spikes on the left and logs in the right you can find him. First move your log to the south and push the other to the wall. Move your log up, jump over the pillar in the water and jump on the other log and get Zephyr.
QuartzYesIn Mogall Forest, move the stone forward, followed by a log. Move the horizontal log to the north and the vertical log into the water and you should be able to battle Quartz.
SleetNoTalk to the girl who is carrying water, two squares in front of the last door she's bring water to. She will drop the water. Use frost on it and you should be able to get Sleet on the right side.
CoronaYesBattle this Mars Djinni on the little isle north of Xian.
SpritzYesOn your way to defeat the 4th Water Statue in Altin Peak, you are able to get Spritz. Move the pillar and frost the puddle on the right, so you should be able to ride in the minewagon. Don't forget to switch the switch!
SmogNoIn the second area of Lamakan Desert, you will find Smog in the north-northwest (do not go to far north!) by using reveal.
VineYesAfter you've exit the Desert, go to the small island northwest of the exit. You'll fight Vine in a battle there.
ScorchNoIn Kalay, go to the northeast to the house with a gap in the wall. Move the statue and you'll be in the Kalay Tunnel. You'll see immediatly a statue, so why don't you move it in front of the flowing water and get Scorch?
SapNoGo back to Vault and ring the bell first, so Sap will run away from the bushes. Go back to the spott with the graveyeards and use Reveal, so you can enter the cave. Find yourself a way out of the cave and get Sap at the end (More to read in the walktrough).
KiteNoIf you go behind Kraden's Cottage back in Vale, you'll spot a cave. You need Lift first. Then, follow the path at the left, after you've used Reveal on the circle of stones. Move the wooden boxes into the water in the next room, so you can jump on the log and move to the right. Enter the door and walk left, because if you go to the right, it's a dead end. Push both logs into the water, and move the third log over both and follow your way. If you approach Kite, it will run away, so open the treasure cheast and equipt the Halt Gem, so you can use Halt on Kite, to stop him running away, and there you go!
EmberNoBefore you enter Tolbi, you have a possiblity to walk on the right, so do that and use Grow on the plant. Climb and freeze the puddle. Now enter the town and jump on the pillar you just made and you'll get Ember.
HailYesOn the worldmap, go to the very southwest of what's possible. That's South of Altmiller Cave. You will fight Hail in a random battle.
GroundNoEnter Kalay Port via the NORTH and you get Ground immediatly
SquallYesIn Altmiller Cave, you come into a room with pillars. Move the vertical pilar first to the right, then the horizontal at the bottom to up. Freeze the puddle and move the horizontal log back to down, as well as the vertical one. Move now the other horizontal one and your about to battle Squall.
TonicNoAfter you've saved Hammet, return to Lunpa Fortress. Search for Donpa and he will offer you Tonic.
FlashYesIn the last area of Suhalla Desert, you have to climb down from a ladder. Before you do that, use reveal. You'll see footsteps leading to somewhere. Follow those and you'll see a pillar. Jump over it and follow the steps again. Climb down the ladder and you'll meet Flash. Just be careful of the big Grey Tornado, if you haven't defeated it.
DewYesSuhalla gate, third screen. Slide yourself down in the third chute and battle Dew.
BaneNoUse Halt on Bane, after you've chased him on Crossbone Island, BF6.
TorchNoIn Lavilero, go to the armorshop and climb up the ladder. Now move all the way on the walls to Torch, since he's sitting on the roof.
LuffYesAt Babi Lighthouse, go to the left, down the ladder. Move the pillar to the left. Go up the ladder and move now to the right. Move the pillar and climb down the ladder. Move the other pillar to the left and follow your way to another ladder, up this time. Use Growth on the small plant and enter Babi Lighthouse. Go down the chute and you're immediatly next to Luff, your last Djinni.
