GS & GS:TLA Encyclopedia -- Geographic Elements

Air's Rock - Air's Rock is actually Ayers Rock, or also called 'Uluru' among the Aboriginals, in the heart of the Outback in Australia. It's a big rock, which has been existing since the wind grinded down the earth. All elemental rocks in Golden Sun: The Lost Age are based upon this 'miracle of nature' of 863m/2831ft high. This rock is as well as in the game as in the real world the sacred place of the wind.

Alhafra - Alhafra is in Golden Sun: The Lost Age a town in the north of the Osenian continent. It's not totally clear which real town it is. All we know, Alhafra is near the coast, surrended by reefs. However, if we look to the original Japanese name of Arafura, we are going closer to Indonesia. You have a sea called 'the sea of Arafura' (Laut Arafura) north of the Northern Territory. Maybe it has connections with the sea?

Altin - The coastertown of Altin is deducted from the Chinese range of Altun Shuan. See more at Altin Passage.

Altin Passage - The Altin passage is in Golden Sun a passage between Xian, Altin and the Lamakan Desert. Originally, Altin is the Altun Shuan Range in China. This is located indeed west of Xian and is west of Tibet and north of the Himalaya. The complete Altun Shuan Range is walking from Tibet to the north, then to the west, then to the south and eventually, it's going back to the east. In this Range we have a plateau, which is called Lamakan or the Talimakan Desert among the local population.

Altin Peak - Altin Peak is located in Altin. It's the mineshaft, actually.

Altmiller Cave - Altmillar Cave is one of the few remaning caves from the Prehistoric era. This cave was probably used by the first Homo Neanderthaler or the Homo Sapiens. In such caves, these people stayed in the cave for sleeping, eating and protect themselves for wild animals and the stormy weathers. They believed by drawing animals on the wall, they had more luck in the hauntings. In Golden Sun it is changed to colors on the wall somehow, which has been used by an ancient civilization.

Anemos Sanctum - This Sanctum has been build by the people of Anemos, an ancient civilization in the lost world, according to the people of Contigo. Anemos (AnemoV) is actually the Greek word for 'Wind'. It's standing symbol for the four winds (the Anemoi, Anemoiin the ancient times: Boreas for the Northern Wind, Zephryos the Western Wind, Notos for the Southern Wind and Euros for the Eastern Wind.
The Anemos Sanctum contains in the game the two most powerful summons of Charon and Iris (see Summons), both guarded by lots of enemies whose weaknesses (or resistances) are the power of.... the wind!

Angara - Angara is known as the continent of Eurasia (geological called 'Laurasia'). Angara was the most northern continent of the supercontinent Pangea, when the world was about 1 billion years old. For quite a while, Angara was connected to the continent what we call now Africa. Together, it was called 'Gondwanaland'. In Golden Sun it is one of the most important continent, containing Mt. Aleph, Sol Sanctum, Vale, Vault, Lunpa, Bilibin, Kolima, Imil, Mercury Lighthouse, Fuchin Temple, Xian, Altin, Lama Temple, Lamakan Desert, Kalay, Tolbi, Altmiller Cave and Loho.

Angkohl Ruins - The Angkohl comes from the 'Angkor', an civilization from 500 AD - 1200 AD. The Angkor lived in the huge metropolis of Angkor Wat in the area in Cambodia, north of Pnomh Penh, next to a swamp and lake. Around 1100 AD, the city was as big as London now. Because the city was so big, it was feeded by channels full of water and it was protected with walls, to keep the Vietnams away. The inhabitants believed in the sons of gods, which should be honoured and that's why they made a lot of temples, towers and ruins in the middle of the wide forests in Southeast-Asia. This complex is the so-called Angkor Thom. On each complex there was a building of the holy Buddha.
However, around 1300 AD the glory was over, when the Angkor got an invasion of the North-Vietnams. They fled the big metropolis and they left it to the swamps and forests. 'till the day of now, the Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom is still existing and it's property of the United Nations of Worldinheritances. We don't know if it's connected to some Trident to Lemuria.

Apoji - This name might misled you, so we have to search to it's Japanese name. In Ougon no Taiyo: Ushinawareshi Toki (Japanese name for Golden Sun: The Lost Age), the Apoji Islands were also called the Garapas Islands. This makes clear these islands are obviously the Galapagos Islands, located in the East of the Pacific Ocean. These islands belongs now to Equador. These islands were so deserted, that the evolution was still going on, as Charles Darwin discovered it in the 19th century AD. You can find birds, turtles and other creatures who are only living on these islands.
Like they say in the game, these islands are so abandoned from the mainlands, they contain many secrets and they don't know much of what's going on in the world.

Aqua Rock - Aqua Rock is here located south of the Apoji Islands. Obviously this Island doesn't belong to the Apoji nowadays, if you can notice the presence of the Moai-statues. These statues are only found on Eastern Island, some 1500km west of Chili. Nobody knows (yet) why the statues are there, and so far any mystery isn't solved over there. For now, it's a sacred place of water, where you can learn the power of Dry!

Atteka - Atteka is the continent which we are now calling South-America. For most western citizens, Atteka is a continent full of mysteries. We only know that in the real South-America, there is the so-called lake of Titica, the rainforests of the Amazone and the ruins of Machu Piccu. However these things are keeping lots of secrets. More will be discussed in Shaman Cave/Contigo and the error page.

Atteka Cavern - In Golden Sun: The Lost Age, there is a Cavern on the most southern edge of Atteka. Inside this Cavern, you can find the summontablet of Coatlicue, a goddess from the life. On these walls of the cavern you can find strange red inscriptions. In order to reach Coatlicue, you need a Flying Ship and Dry.

Atteka Inlet - This is actually the gate to Atteka. All other shores leads to dead ends. This inlet is hidden in the south of Atteka behind the reefs, to keep strangers away, perhaps.

Babi Lighthouse - Babi Lighthouse is a construction of the leader of Tolbi, Babi. He hopes to find the ancient city of Lemuria, so that he can gain more mystic draughts to gain a long life. However, when the Venus Lighthouse was lit, the Lighthouse crumbled into pieces. This Lighthouse might be the Tower of Babel. A Tower in the ancient city of Assyria, with a goal to reach the heavens. Myths say the Gods weren't happy about that and so they let the people miscommunicate, so the tower would collapse again. However, this is unconfirmed.

Balloo Range - The Balloo Range is the range of mountains which devides Osenia into East- and West-Osenia. Because of this range, Yallam remains abondoned from the rest of the world. The Balloo Range is a range existing out of the Great Dividing Range, the Gregory Range, the Grey Range, the Selwyn Range and the Barrier Range.

Bilibin - Bilibin - or Bilibino officially - is located into the very northeast of Siberia. It's a place remaining from the Stalin regime (just like Kolyma) where guys had to work in mines and forests to gain oil or wood. Strangely enough, Bilibin is here west of Kolima, while in the real world Bilibin is EAST of Kolima. The leader of the GS Town, Lord McCoy, is British actually.

Bilibin Blockade - The Bilibin Blockade is nothing more than a passage in Golden Sun to prevent people from Bilibin going to Kolima, because there the people are turned into trees because of the curse of Tret.

Bilibin Cave - A Cave northwest of Bilibin to gain access to the North of Angara.

Champa - Champa is mentioned in GS, when you defeated the Fusion Dragon and when you are back in Lalivero Town, just talk/mind read the Item Shopkeeper to know more about it, that it's a desolated village south of the Lamakan Desert. There are pirates living over there, because the soil and living is unbearable: it's way to dry! Orignally, the Champa were living in the middle of Vietnam. They were connected to the Angkor west of it.

Contigo - Contigo is a town next to the crater of where the city of Anemos used to be. Here, the ruins of Machu Piccu are nowadays be found, but this might be error of Camelot. Machu Piccu are ruins surrounded by high mountains, just like Shaman Village, but that is on Hesperia/North-America. Also, the inhabitants of the Shaman Village (the Kayapo-Indians) are looking similar to the original inhabitants of Machu Piccu. In Contigo, you have a Teleport Circle which leads to the Anemos Sanctum. More found about this 'error' in here.

Crossbone Island - Crossbone Island is in the middle of the Karagol Sea. This Island is 10f deep, with a ghostpirate guarding the Pirate Ship. This Pirate Ship was actually the replacement ship of the Tolbi-Bound Ship. Mysteries says that this island could be the Island of Malta. Malta is a very small island, but it has the shape like Crossbone Island, plus it contains small hills and caves. This island is like Treasure Island.

Daila - The Translators from the American Camelot changed this name from Delhi. Why they did, we don't know. We only know it's now popular in RPG's to change real names slightly different (Angkor --> Angkohl; Madora --> Madra; Suteki --> Sudeki etc.). Delhi used to be the capital of the Indian continent, until this big town has become unbearable to live, which resulted into a New Delhi: a new and smaller version of Delhi, which is nowadays the capital of India. Delhi is a place where Hindu and Buddha religions are meeting theirselves. In The Lost Age, India is still seperated from Europe, meaning Delhi is still vulnerable to floods, like happened now.

Dekhan - Originally, the Deccan Plateau is indeed on the southeast side of the Indian Continent, full of gaps and small hills, just like in TLA's Dekhan Plateau.

Fuchin Temple - The Fuchin Temple is from Master Nyunpa, who is guarding the secret of Ki, also known as 'Force' in the Western World. The Temple's name is similar to two names in China:
It may be deducted from either the town of Fushun (125ºE, 42ºN) or it may be the from the state of Fukien (The province west of Taiwan/Formosa). Fushun sounds more reasonable, as Xian is located south-west of it, as well as in the game, as well as in the real world.

Gabomba Statue - A statue from an African Tribe.

Gaia Falls - Gaia Falls are in Golden Sun: The Lost Age the endless Waterfalls at the edge of the world.

Gaia Rock - Gaia Rock - aka Mt. Mikage for the people of Izumo - is a sacred rock of the earth powers. The Guardian Serpent watches over it for a long time. Not much is known about this Rock as it might be Mt. Hakken in Japan, since it's the closest mountain to Izumi. It could be Mt. Fuji, too.

Garoh - Garoh is in Golden Sun: The Lost Age a place where we have Lycanthropes (or Werewolves). The Werewolves are keeping the secret of Whirlwind and Reveal. Garoh is just south of Airs Rock, and that's why they are possessing windpowers: because of the strong wind (see Airs Rock), the wind carries particals of the psynergystones. We don't know any related city/town to Garoh, however.

Goma Cave & Goma Range - The Goma Cave and Range are the range of mountains which locations are from the Balkany to Germany. It's kind of a dark cave with water flowing on the bottom of the cave. We don't know much about it for now.

Gondowan - Gondowan is the continent south of Tolbi. It's now known as Africa. This continent is indeed a continent full of cliffs, woods and dry areas. Originally, Gondowan is from Gondwanaland: a supercontinent formed out of the current Europe, Asia and Africa. Gondowan contains: Suhalla, Suhalla Desert, Lalivero, Venus Lighthouse, Tunnel Ruins, Babi Lighthouse, Naribwe, Kibombo, Magma Rock and a settlement.

Gondowan Cliffs - The Gondowan Cliffs are the cliffs between Indra and Gondowan, after Indra bumped in between Gondowan and Osenia.

Gondowan Passage - This Passage is a secret cave on the east side of the Karagol sea to jump from Gondowan to Angara without going by boat.

Gondowan Settlement -The Gondowan Settlement is located in West-Africa, meaning it's symbol to the huge amount of small states among the coast of Africa. To name a few states in West-Africa: Senegal, Gambia, Guinee, Guinee-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin and Burkina Faso.

Great Eastern Sea - Aka the Pacific Ocean

Great Western Sea - Aka the Atlantic and Indian Ocean

Hesperia - Hesper means evening. I don't know what it has to do with Hesperia though. It's the continent of North-America with only 3 things on it: Shaman Village, Hesperia Settlement and the Great Lake(s).

Hesperia Settlement - A small settlement on the westcoast of Northern America.

Idejima - Idejima is the peninsula southwest of the Venus Lighthouse. It has the shape of the Arabian Peninsula, though. When the Venus Lighthouse was lit, Idejima was seperated from Angara and bumped into India, with the thank of a Tsunami (the tidal wave).

Imil - Imil is the hometown of the Mercury Clan. However, Alex and Mia are the only descendents left of this ancient tribe. Imil used to protect the Mercury Lighthouse. We have no idea upon which city this is based

Indra - Indra is just the continent of India. India was indeed a seperated continent between the Carbon (100 mln years ago) and the Ecocene (50 mln years ago). India still contains the elements showed in Golden Sun: The Lost Age: Hindu, Buddha, Deccan Plateau, Madras and Delhi. The Himalaya came up much later in the Cenezoic Era, 40.000 years ago.

Indra Cavern - The Indra Cavern is made up, however. It's in the middle of Indda, containing a combotablet of Zagan.

Islet Cave - The Islet Cave is mere unknown for us. It's just a long hallway under the sea, located in the Sea of Time Islet.

Izumo - In Japan, just south of Osaka, you have a village called Izumi. It's another mystery for us, why this village has been chosen to be the only city of Japan. Perhaps it was the first established town ever. You also have the Izumo Forests in this area, existing out of small hills with lots of green trees, of course.

Jupiter Lighthouse - Jupiter Lighthouse is the third Elemental Lighthouse in the world, taking place in the north of the continent of Atteka. We don't 'ave an idea either, which building this is in real life. Perhaps there is here no building at all. Who knows? Anyway, Jupiter Lighthouse is the lighthouse of the powerfull windforces. The key to unlock the secrets of this lighthouses are the psynergies of Hover (the Power of the Anemos) and Cyclone. This building exists, apart from Mercury and Venus Lighthouse, out of four towers: two elevator towers and a 'red' and 'blue' tower. On these last two towers you need to activate the archers; they will shoot arrows to the statues on the Aerie, who will lift the stone up, since the hole of the beacon is blocked.

Kalay - Kalay is located into the heart of Angara, just north of the Karagol Sea and east of what we call now the Alps. Therefore it's been established by a merchant named Hammet, who raised Ivan, one of the last two descendants of Anemos City. He had the advise to buy silk in Xian and sell it into Tolbi, and that's why he 'made up' this town at the crossing of Silk Road. It's unknown for us which city this is in real life. Perhaps not.

Kalt Island - 'Kalt' is the German word for 'cold', so basicly Camelot put in a good word for this island northwest of Angara. Kalt could also be derived from 'Kelt' (The Keltics), the ancestors of the Irish people. However, this island cannot be Iceland, because Iceland didn't exist yet that time. Iceland has been existing since the continent drove further away in about 100.000 years ago, while the Golden Sun(: The Lost Age) era was about 50.000.000 years ago. Iceland contains geisers and volcano's etc. So it can be this island could be either Faeroer, UK or Ireland.

Karagol Sea - Obviously this is the Meditteranian Sea. However in the history of art, there was the Karagolingic (??) art in the late 19th century (AD). This was based on the greatness of Carl the Great, who ruled West-Europe.

Kibombo - Kibombo is the city of the witchdoctors of Oeia and Akafubu. It contains a great statue of the Great Gabomba. However, this city is indeed located in the belly of the continent and can be three places: Kibumbu in Burundi, Kibonbo in Tanzania and Kibamba in Democratic Republic of Congo. Kibumbu is most likely to be the one of these three, because it's near the mountains and there are rivers flowing on both the east and west side. Kibamba is in a more lower place and there is only a river east of it, while Kibonbo is in an even more lower place.

Kibombo Mountains - In the original game of Golden Sun: The Lost Age, these mountains were called the 'Ming Mountains' and that sounds for me less catchy. Camelot just made up these mountains as there are a lot of mountains in the east of Africa. In the Kibombo Mountains you must avoid the guardians of Kibombo.

Kolima - Kolima is Kolyma in Siberia actually and is located West of Bilibino, unlike in Golden Sun, where Kolima is east of Bilibin. However, Kolyma was just like Bilibino a camp for lumberjacks and mine/coalworkers during the time of Stalin. People from the west of Russia could be banished forever in the camps of Kolyma and Bilibino. These people had to work like madness in the woods of Kolima Forest. In this Kolima, the people remains still kind and they live in trees, actually.

Kolima Forest - Kolyma Forest is still located west of the Kolyma Range, in the very northeast of Siberia (in Russia, of course). The winters are very harsh, like in most places of Russia. Winter or no winter, the lumberjacks of Kolyma and Bilibino just had to chop for wood, making this area unbearable later. In Golden Sun you can already see that the forest has become brown instead of green. Because of that, Tret the tree had cursed the people of Kolima.

Lalivero - Lalivero is the most northeastern town of the continent of Gondowan. It's most likely that Lalivero was an Egyptian town, because of the inscriptions of the wall which protects Lalivero from any harm. However, since the Tolbians came, there is a constant conflict going on. Lalivero is also the home of Sheba, since she fell out of the sky. Under Lalivero you have the Tunnel Ruins: Ruins who are leading to the Venus Lighthouse.

Lama Temple - Lama Temple is the Temple of the other descendent of Anemos, Hama. Instead of Hama Temple, they made up Lama Temple. It's located between Altin and the Lamakan Desert.

Lamakan Desert - Also called the 'Talimakan' Desert among the local inhabitants. The Lamakan Desert is a plateau on the Altun Shuan, where the temperatures can rise very high, as you noticed when you walked over there in the game. See more at 'Altin Passage'.

Lemuria - Lemuria is the lost city of the ancient world. It's the last city remaining from the previous golden age. Lemuria was actually the ancient Roman festival of ghosts, in which the people would try to appease ghosts called Lemures by throwing peanuts at walls or something. Legend say this city could be Atlantis, but that's not true, as Atlantis is found in the Atlantic Ocean and Lemuria in the middle of the Pacific. They say it really looks like the homes are floating in the air, because of the constant perpetual fog.

Loho - Loho is in Golden Sun seperated from the mainland of Angara. It's more a mining city then a city where you can really live in. It seems the soil is full of Golem Core and Mythrill Silver. Once again, we are sorry, we don't know which town this is in real.

Lunpa - This city is established by Lunpa, who is now living in Lemuria. He gave the city to his son Donpa, who gave it to his son Dodonpa and now he wants to give to Donpappa in the future. Apprantly, Dodonpa is the most evil one and Donpa can't help him as he's near the end of his life. Because Dodonpa (and his evil pet Toadonpa - everything ends at unpa/pa/onpa) is evil, he kidnapped Hammet for randsom money and he locks-up the people of Lunpa, where no one gets in or out.

Madra - We know Madra is, thanks to a printing error of Camelot in the box of Golden Sun: The Lost Age, the city of Madras, in the south of India. It's one of the hottest places in India as the equator is near this city. The Sun is always shining brightly (you can see that when you enter Madra, too). However, this city has been very vulnerable to attacks, because of the walls who are kinda crappy and the Catacombs under the ground. In the Ruins, you can find the summon of Moloch, the sacred Ice Monster. To gain access, you need to enter the Catacombs either via the graveyards or via the hole in the town. Madras is famous because of his Chicken Madras, a very tasteful receipe.

Magma Rock - Magma Rock is the sacred rock of fire. It can be the mountain of Mont Nganoui or the Mont Margherita: two mountains who aren't that high, but they are just south of the Sahel/Suhalla Desert, which is the location of Magma Rock. the Margherita is most likely as it isn't far from Kibumbu/Kibombo as well. To gain access to this rock you need mainly Burst in order to get the psynergy of Blaze.

Mars Lighthouse - Mars Lighthouse is the last and the most northern Lighthouse of the Four Lighthouses. It's near the edge of the world, and therefore it could be on the edge of Greenland or Canada. but this is unkown for us, as they drew mountains and snow on places where water should appear. Anyway, this Lighthouse exists out of six towers: two elevatortowers, which are useless, because you need to Teleport to the Aerie; and four other towers, which are the symbol for each element: mankind (earth), fish (water), dragon (fire) and bird (wind). To access the towers you need to have the Mars Star with you and ALL psynergies in the game... Well, most psynergies, and that's why it's the last lighthouse.

Mercury Lighthouse - The most easiest Lighthouse of both games, because it's the first one. Basicly you don't need much psynergy except for Move and Ply. Ply is a psynergy passed for generations in the Mercury Clan. However, Mia and Alex are the only two last descendants of this ancient clan. The Lighthouse is the key to the Water of Hermes (the Greek Name for the Roman God Mercury). This lighthouse might be located on either one of the northern peninsula's of Scandinavia or Russia (Nova Zembla etc.).

Mikasalla - Mikasalla is just a one-stop place to rest and buy some equipment. There aren't any interesting buildings nor events. It's like another version of Suhalla in the original Golden Sun. However, we have no idea which town this is in Australia.

Mogull Forest - Once again, we have no idea which forest this is, but apparently, this forest was a Prairie first, as Master Nyunpa of Fuchin Temple said. It's a Forest with unending paths.

Mt. Aleph - Legends say Alchemy gave birth to this mountain. This mountain is the source of Alchemy and contains the Sol Sanctum and the Elemental Stars. When the Lighthouses are all lit, rays of light will be summoned to one golden beam and then the Golden Sun wil form above the mountains, meaning Alchemy will be unleashed upon the world again, just like before the seal was placed.

Mt. Mikage - Mt. Mikage is the name of Gaia Rock among the residents of Izumo.

Naribwe - Naribwe is the first town you encounter on the continent of Gondowan, when approaching it from the Indian Continent. It's a small town with a Fortuneteller and for the rest there aren't much exiciting things left. Naribwe could be the city of Namibe in Angola, but then Naribwe is way off course. Angola is actually in the west of Africa and Naribwe is in the east of Africa.

Northern Reaches - Another name for the area of the Northpole, containing the city of Prox and the Mars Lighthouse.

Osenia - Osenia is actually the continent of Australia. However, there are a lot of islands in the southwest of Pacific and they are 'continentless'. The UN decided these Islands should belong to one major continent. That resulted Australia, Papua New Guinea, New-Zealand and all the other small islands in the southwest Pacific are called 'Oceania'. This Osenia is just only Australia, containing Yampi Desert, Alhafra, Garoh, Airs Rock and Mikasalla in the west and Yallam and Taopo Swamp in the east.

Osenia Cavern - A Cavern in the heart of West-Osenia, which contains the summon of Megaera.

Osenia Cliffs - The Cliffs between Indra and Osenia, when Indra bumped into between Gondowan and Osenia. A ship of Briggs crashed here, though.

Prox - Prox is the most northern city in Weyard. It's sealed away, in order to protect Mars Lighthouse, but it has become unbearable after the Jupiter Lighthouse beiing lit. Strong and icecold winds are blowing through the Northern Reaches and Gaia Falls is consuming more and more land, which is threatening the existance of Prox. However, the citizens of Prox are immune to cold. Besides, this was the hometown of Saturos and Menardi's party plus Agatio and Karst.

Sea of Time Islet (and E Tundaria -, W Indra, SE Angara - and N Indra Islet) - These are small islands in the Great Eastern Sea. They are just small establishments of people who wants to live on their own. We can say East Tundaria Island could be Tasmania, the Sea of Time Islet the ruins of Nan Padol (they really exist in the Pacific!), West Indra Islet could be Madagscar or Sri Lanka and the others are just mysteries for us. Have you got an idea?

Shaman Cave - A cave which gave access to Shaman Village.

Shaman Village - Apparently, Camelot mixed up a few things. Shaman Village is surrounded by high mountains to protect themselves for strangers. They are indians and Moapa is the leader of it, but they are very similar to the Kayapó-Indians (especially when you compare their feathers of the macaw) in Brazil. The only ancient city in the world who is just like Shaman Village (Surrounded by high mountains, next to rivers, very defensive, and keeping strangers away) is located in South-America, called Machu Picchu, and has the same shape as Shaman Village, too. Just look at the symbol of the town. It's 600m/1967ft above the Urubamba rivers in the Andes. The citizens of Shaman Village really hate strangers and you can notice that when you've found the city first time. Inside Shaman Village you can find a Fortuneteller, Trial Road, The Vanishing Sand and the Shaman Mountains in the back of the village.

Shrine of Sea God - The Shrine of the Sea God is tower and cave east of Delhi, meaning it could be Bodhnath Stupa. It's a tower to honour the gods (remember, the Taj Mahal is 'just' a palace). For now it's a place to get a part of the Trident of Angkohl.

Sol Sanctum - Sol Sanctum is a Sanctum in honour of the (Golden) Sun and is inside Mt. Aleph. This sanctum is the home of the Elemental Stars and can only be reached when you locked up the trap and changed the Sol into Luna.

Suhalla - Suhalla is just a made up town north of the Suhalla Desert. It's not a very special place: It's just a place for resting

Suhalla Desert - The Suhalla Desert is actually the Sahel zone of the Sahara Desert, in North-Africa. It isn't the most hottest desert (that is the Lamakan Desert) nor the driest desert (that's the Atacama Desert in Chile), but it IS the biggest desert of the world, and there is indeed wind over there, just not as much as the game displays.

Taopo Swamp - Taopo Swamp in Osenia is actually Lake Taupo in New-Zealand. It's a swamp above a volcano, which is quite unique in the world. As you might have noticed the lower caves are indeed full of lava and steam, which makes the swamp quite dry, but hot too. Sunshine wants rain in order to reach Taopo Swamp, but I guess he's just afraid of having wet feet ;).

Tolbi - Tolbi is without doubt Rome, altrough it's location might be weird: it's west of the Karagol Sea, while Rome is in the heart of the Meditteranian.
Tolbi is the most vivid and largest town in Weyard. It contains a Lucky Spring (originally from Lemuria, but this could be connected with the Fountain of Trevi), a Colosso (the Colosseum) where warriors fight, a palace of Babi and it has some interesting games to earn money or items (you have these two also in Contigo). This city is actually a combination of Lemuria and Contigo, but without Ancient buildings. The leader of Tolbi is Lord Babi who ruled the city for over 150 year, until he ran out of Mystic Draught.

Treasure Island - Treasure Island is another version of Crossbone Island, including an extra boss. This boss is this time a star magician, who guards the summon of Azul instead of a Demon Mail.

Tundaria - Tundaria is just one big frozen Tundra, also called the southpole. It's still a continent without any inhabitants (yes there are living scientists over there, though). It's true that the southpole used to have mountains, but they apparantly eroded. The soil is more than 3km thick in some places!

Tundaria Tower - The Tundaria Tower is actually located on the Graham Peninsula. This tower is just fake, because there are no building on the southpole, but you have to use all the land in the world, right? To access this tower, you must sail your ship to the east of Tundaria and walk all the way to the west. You also need Dry to dry up the water at the entrance of the tower. Then search for the Burst Booch and Crack the ice so you can grab yourself another part of the Trident.

Vale - The game of Golden Sun starts here. Vale is the town which guards the Sol Sanctum and Mt. Aleph to keep Alchemy away from evil. However, Vale failed and the world is in chaos right now. It's a town with a river flowing through and home of Isaac, Garet, Jenna, Felix and Kraden.

Vault - Another town in the heart of Angara. It's a very small town, but there were some thieves in this town who stole Ivan's Shaman Rod. We don't know either which town this is in real life, just like Vale.

Venus Lighthouse - The second lighthouse of the Four Lighthouses. This is lighthouse of the earth and might be the Lighthouse of Alexandria. This is a complex building as you must gain access to the Tunnel Ruins first and then come back to the Lighthouse, full of sand and traps.

West Angara Cave - A Cave in the very Northwest of Angara, containing the summon of Haures.

Xian - This is the only town in the whole game, which name is exact the same as in the real world. Xian is a big city in the middle of China and it means the peacefull city of the west. That's right, because Xian is the biggest city in the west of China. Xi means west, An means peace. In Xian, martial arts meet each other here. This city is located on the southeast of Angara and is home of Hsu and Feizhi.

Yallam - Yallam is the most eastern city of Osenia. Because of the Balloo Range, it's all alone in the world without any contacts. They can't build any boats, because there are reefs north of this town. Yepp used to sail around, but when he died, Yallam was all alone again. Though, Yallam remains famous because of Sunshine the blacksmith.

Yampi Desert - Yampi Desert is actually the Great Sand Desert and the Gibson Desert in the West of Australia; Airs/Ayers Rock is in the Great Victoria Desert. It's a complex desert, because the citizens of Madra got lost in this desert. King Scorpion defends his territory here.
