GSGS Employee Survey Results

Communication, rated 11th, is the category with the lowest level
of agreement with 16.14% of respondents reporting agreement.

While the scores are generally split for every item there is a
positive trend recognizing that supervisor work-group communication
is generally positive with an emphasis on the supervisor's ability,
frequency, and venues of communication (#1, #23, #70, #85).

Greater concerns include ineffective cross-school communication
and that having a shared understanding of school-wide mission and
vision is lacking (#47). There is a feeling that secrecy is too high
("hushed voices") and that the Dean and some senior staff are not
"listening" and delivering on "top-down" communication.

One theme of agreement is that communication is very critical to all
aspects of effectively conducting business and yet it is seen as the
greatest area of impairment.
