Attending Pictures with Santa and purchasing items from the Holiday Craft Catalog will assist Girl Scout Troop 11510 earn money towards their trip to Savannah, GA.

Why Savannah?

Savannah, Georgia is the birthplace of Juliette Gordon Low, founder of the Girl Scout movement in the United States.

In 1953, the Girl Scouts purchased the home where Juliette Gordon Low grew up.  After restoring the home with items from Juliette's family, the Girl Scouts opened the home to visitors.  When visiting the home, our troop will learn what life was like for Juliette in a Victorian-era family.

Daisy, as Juliette was called by her friends, enjoyed the arts.  She wrote poetry and plays that she would act out.  Later she became a skilled painter and scuplture.  Not only will the troop be able to view some of Daisy's art, they will also be able to try their hand at painting.  If you would like to know more about Daisy, you can visit
GSUSA.

There are other activities planned during this trip, but the majorityof them will center on Girl Scout history and Savannah history.
