After finishing lunch we began our Savannah Safari II book walking tour. We ordered the books from the Gordonston Book Store in Savannah. This tour is a self-guided tour using the book. You begin the tour at the Juliette Low home and continue through the streets of Savannah on a hunt for not "live" animals but "architectural" animals. As you are lead place to place you are given a clue from inside the book as to what you are on the lookout for. The girls said this was one of their favorite things.
You can find out information on this tour in the copy of the Birthplace Bound.
Christ Church, which Juliette Low attended. Go inside for a tour. They have a souvenir Girl Scout bulletin that is handout every Sunday morning.
We had to find the majestic Eagle. Do you know where it is?
We found the Orange Tree Gate on York Street.
Can You?
At four o'clock we took a two hour dolphin tour. This was really a lot of fun. Captain Derek takes you out and doesn't come in until you see dolphins. We did see dolphins. Half of the troop sat in the front of the boat, the other half sat in the back. Those that sat in the front on several occasions got soaked! Would we sit there again? YOU BET!!
We would definitely recommend this tour. You can find out information on Dolphin Magic tours in the Birthplace Bound booklet.
Ummm! Ice Cream at the Soda Pop Shoppe. They even give Girl Scout discounts!
After the tour we walked over to Picadilly's restaurant where we had dinner. It was buffet style. We called ahead and also received Girl Scout discounts on our meals.
We had a little bit of an adventure here as well. If you remember early I told you we found out the story of "Gracie". Well we think we encountered her in the bathroom. It was a lot of fun. The girls ran out of the bathroom screaming and laughing. Check it out if you get a chance to visit it. She was playing with the music in the bathroom when we were there.
We headed to the Riverfront shops after dinner. The girls did some souvenir shopping. We stopped and listen to people playing instruments all along the street.
By now it was about 11:00 p.m. it was time to head back to Tybee Island.
