He married Juana Baca Dona in Bernalillo, Kingdom Of New Mexico, May 15, 1713.⁽¹⁷³¹⁾ 1713, April 26 (No. 4) Bernalillo. Francisco Duran y Chaves, (20 plus), son of Capt. Fernando Duran y Chaves and Da. Lucia Hurtado of Atrisco, and Da. Juana Baca (14) of Bernalillo of unknown parentage. Pair dispensed, 3rd degree of consanquinity. Witnessess: Antonio de Silva, Albuquerque notary; Nicolas Lucero (60), Francisco Candelaria (50), both of Albuquerque; Jose de Quintana, Bernalillo notary; Capt. Diego Montoya, español, Diego Padilla, español, both of Albuquerque. Pair married, May 15, 1713, with witnesses Antonio de Ulibarri and wife Da. Maria de Chaves Hurtado, Jose de Quintana and Capt. Diego Montoya.

At 26 years of age Juana became the mother of María Luisa Duran Y Chaves 1725.⁽¹⁷³⁴⁾ At 30 years of age Juana became the mother of Jose Vicente Duran Y Chaves February 14, 1729/30.⁽¹⁷³⁵⁾ At 34 years of age Juana became the mother of Margarita Duran Y Chaves Dona January 3, 1733/34.⁽¹⁷³⁶⁾ At 36 years of age Juana became the mother of Miguel Antonio Duran Y Chaves November 26, 1735.⁽¹⁷³⁷⁾ At 44 years of age Juana became the mother of Juana Duran Y Chaves January 10, 1743/44.⁽¹⁷³⁸⁾

He was baptized in Nuestra Señora De Guadalupe De, Guadalupe Del Paso, Kingdom Of New Mexico, December 21, 1681. Religion: religion unknown.⁽¹⁷³⁹⁾ At 44 years of age Francisco became the father of María Luisa Duran Y Chaves 1725.⁽¹⁷⁴⁰⁾ At 48 years of age Francisco became the father of Jose Vicente Duran Y Chaves February 14, 1729/30.⁽¹⁷⁴¹⁾ At 52 years of age Francisco became the father of Margarita Duran Y Chaves Dona January 3, 1733/34.⁽¹⁷⁴²⁾ At 54 years of age Francisco became the father of Miguel Antonio Duran Y Chaves November 26, 1735.⁽¹⁷⁴³⁾ At 62 years of age Francisco became the father of Juana Duran Y Chaves January 10, 1743/44.⁽¹⁷⁴⁴⁾ Francisco Duran y Chaves married Juana Baca, "the younger", daughter of Juana Baca, "the Elder". In his brother Pedro's will he is mentioned as having adopted Pedro's three minor children by his first wife.

He and Juana Baca had at least eight children: Miguel Antonio, born November 26, 1735, who married Francisca Baca, August 28, 1781; Jose Vicente, born February 14, 1730; Agustine, who died young on January 7, 741; Ignacio, who married Gregoria Maese, and then Ursula Sanchez in 1770; Margarita, born January 3, 1734, who married Salvador Garcia in 1761; Juana, born January 10, 1744; Maria, who died young on May 9, 1744; and Lucia, very likely the child of his brother, Pedro, who became the wife of Miguel Montoya.
