314. Gertrudis⁹ Durán Y Cháves ((?)¹⁰ Urbán)⁽¹⁶⁵⁹⁾ was born 1720.⁽¹⁶⁶⁰⁾ Gertrudis died April 17, 1763 at 42 years of age.⁽¹⁶⁶¹⁾

She married Francisco Silba. (Additional notes for Francisco Silba⁽¹⁶⁶²⁾) Francisco became the father of Juan Francisco Silva September 10, 1731.⁽¹⁶⁶³⁾ Francisco became the father of María Barbara Silva January 14, 1733/34.⁽¹⁶⁶⁴⁾ Francisco became the father of Juan Silva January 6, 1735/36. Francisco became the father of María Augustina Silva September 9, 1739.⁽¹⁶⁶⁵⁾ Francisco became the father of María Victoria Silva January 2, 1748/49.⁽¹⁶⁶⁶⁾ (See Francisco Silba for the children resulting from this marriage.)

At 11 years of age Gertrudis became the mother of Juan Francisco Silva September 10, 1731.⁽¹⁶⁶⁷⁾ At 13 years of age Gertrudis became the mother of María Barbara Silva January 14, 1733/34.⁽¹⁶⁶⁸⁾ At 15 years of age Gertrudis became the mother of Juan Silva January 6, 1735/36. At 19 years of age Gertrudis became the mother of María Augustina Silva September 9, 1739.⁽¹⁶⁶⁹⁾ At 28 years of age Gertrudis became the mother of María Victoria Silva January 2, 1748/49.⁽¹⁶⁷⁰⁾ From "Beyond Origins of New Mexico Families", Volume 2: Gertrudis Cháves (ONMF: 163) wife of Francisco Silva (ONMF: 289) was not a daughter of Nicolás Durán y Cháves as documented in Origins of New Mexico Families by Fray Angelico Chaves. Prior to marriage, Nicolás had a son, Juan José by Juana Montaño. While (he) was traveling out of New Mexico, Juana Montaño had given birth to a boy christened Nicolás and was pregnant with her third child, Gertrudis, when Nicolás return to New Mexico. Nicolás, the younger, and Gertrudis, natural children of Juana Montaño, were said to have been fathered by "a decent man named Urbán". Nicolás Durán y Cháves was forced to marry Juana Montaño.

This information comes from the testimony of Antonio Cháves, half-brother of Gertrudis Cháves, given during the pre-marital investigation of José Manuel Silva and María Josefa Silveria Sánchez.
