   Four general reasons why Europe was in the brink of war in the early 1900's are 

• Nationalism

• Alliances

• Imperialism

• Militarism-

These same conditions do cause International tension today. When we have international tension in our countries and government, many things in that country become corrupt and we create problems. When tension is caused between two different countries with two different governments, many horrible things start to happen. Today, the alliances are different than in the early 1900's.
