Notes on the French Revolution

• Three groups of what society needs: Conservatives- clergy, kings and land holding nobles. Peasants also supported conservatives. Many of them believed in the divine right of kings.
• Liberals disagree with the conservatives. Liberals want a constitution. Believe in the natural rights of people.
• Nationalists are going to not like the conservatives. Want territory restored and they believe in the same cultural heritage.
• The Liberal of this age wants laissez faire economics. They want the government to stay out of it.
