The Magna Carta, a document of great character, was signed by King John who was forced by angry nobles. In this Magna Carta was a list of feudal rights. This document would protect privileges and recognize the rights of townspeople and the church. The Magna Carta asserted that the nobles had certain rights. Later, these rights were extended to all English citizens. Also, the Magna Carta said that monarchs must obey the law. The King also agreed not to raise taxes unless speaking with the Great Council of the lords and clergy. Today the English use this document on creating laws that will be for the benefit of the people.
The Magna Carta has a great influence on many democracies and new governments that are being created. This document holds powerful laws and rights of the people. Like the Americas, the Bill of Rights is like the Magna Carta that tells what we can and can't do. The Magna Carta's laws not only benefit the people but the people to come. It is the backbone for England.
