Question #2
His distorted perceptions are important to
him while he is about to be
hung because his thoughts are leading up or foreshadowing to the next parts of
the story. This part connects parts one and three together like when the clock
starts ticking and becomes very loud as it slows down. The river with the log in
it becomes very slow also besides the fact that it was going very fast without
the log in it. Everything slowed down except for his mind, including the watch
that got louder and slower when he thought of it. His thoughts kept going faster
and faster. He compressed his thoughts in to about 2 or 3 seconds. The examples
shown above are what he is thinking about when he is about to be hung.
