Day 5 - August 8th, 2003

• First stop on our tour of Grenada - Fort Frederick
• Beautiful! Oh, and the flowers are nice, too
• Awesome view from Fort Freddie
• Nice little amphitheater built in

• We visited the Spice and Herb garden, which was really very interesting
• "This is a vanilla vine it is good for rubbing on the pregnant woman's belly and also used for headaches such as the one that I have right now...
• So THAT'S what nutmegs look like on the tree...
• Wow - bananas!
• Hiking to see waterfalls
• Tall waterfall - very cool
• The tour group pauses in the freshwater for a picture
• These kids wash their clothes twice a week in the creek
• Ahhhh, no salt in this water

• Colin was so nice, he even washed the mud off our shoes

• Yes, we actually met the Prime Minister of Grenada while we were at the chocolate factory. I am not kidding. Here's a link to a story about someone else who met the Prime Minister on the very same day we did
• Lizards puff out their throat when they want to attract a mate
• The jewelers at Seibke Hoyt would be so jealous of these working conditions
