Karl Stromberg is the villain in the movie The Spy Who Loved Me. Stromberg had hired a doctor and a professor to build a nuclear-submarine tracking system, so he could capture submarines to "blow up the world". In fact, Stromberg captured a Soviet submarine and an American submarine and refitted them with his own crew and nuclear missiles. One of the submarines was aiming toward United States, and the other to Russia. Bond was on a third submarine that was captured by Stromberg's ship, the Liparus. The Liparus was used to control the two submarines that were being used to destroy the U.S. and Russia. After a while, the captives formed as resistance, overtook the ship, reset the coordinates of the missiles to destroy each other, and left the ship in a rush on the other sub. Bond went back to Atlantis, Stromberg's lair to rescue Anya, and to kill Stromberg. Bond met Stromberg at his dining table, which had a gun fastened to the bottom so Stromberg could kill whoever was sitting at the opposite end. After Stromberg had his shot at Bond, he used Stromberg's own barrel to kill him. |
