I think we boarded the Guam in August or Sept. of 1969, in Morhead City, N.C. I was with India Co./3rd Batt./8th Marines/2nd Marine Div./outa Camp LeJeune, N.C. This one is my favorite,and I still have the camera I took the picture with! (it doesnt work tho)Flight Deck this one had me worried. They put us off the ship at Gitmo, and left! My first thought was, can I swim 90 miles? But they came back in a week and got us. Guam Leaving Gitmo

Here's what we we're doing while you guys we're working. When we we're through w/ our shoes and belt buckles, we broke out the cards. I took this picture from the hanger deck. I dont know what it is, but it was part of our ESCORT This one I took from the fantail. We would throw quarters to these guys and they would dive in and get em. I liked to f**k w/ em and throw them pennys every now and then.
