You may wonder- "Come on- be real. How does a person 'Dial-up' God?" It's really simple. Just pull out a bible and "dial" a number. Here's what I mean. When you see Bible verses quoted they are written: Philippians 4:6-7 This means go find the book of Philippians which you can do by going to the Table of Contents in the very front of the Bible, and that will give you the page that the book begins on, then turn to that page. Next look at the the way the verse is written above again. The first number you see, the 4 - means that's the chapter of the book that you are looking for. So the page that the Table of Contents has sent you to is chapter 1 of that book, so thumb through the pages until you see the large number 4. After doing this you may have noticed a bunch of little numbers throughout the text. These are the numbers you'll want to look at next, but first look at the quote we're working with above again. The numbers 6-7 that come after the 4 are representative of the verses this quote is asking you to read. Look at your Bible again in chapter 4 and find the words that start after the small number 6, and read all the words after the small numbers 6 and 7. Using the bible is just one of the tools used in "Dialing-up" God. God needs to hear you talk to him. You do this through prayer. All you have to do to pray is call on him. He will be there. There is no one right way to pray, it's more like the Nike ad says, "Just do it." Just say "Dear God-" and you have his attention, then just let him know whatever is on your mind. Why "Dial-up" God? He will always be there with the right answer. God will always give you an answer, just remember the answer you get might not be the one you want, or the answer may be "wait." So chances are if you're thinking God didn't hear you, I know he did, you're just not hearing him. Think a minute-did you get what you asked for? Does that mean God said, "Not yet-you need to wait." Ah-Makes you go "Hmmmm:)" Always remember keep praying, and if your answer never seems to arrive, or forever seems to be wait, try changing your prayer. The most important part of "Dialing-up" God is to be sure you're listening for him to "speak" to you. God talks to us in so many ways. It is only a very special few who actually hear the voice of God like you can hear your Mommy or Daddy's voices. So how do you hear God? You read the Bible. Those are words God gave us. They can answer many of your questions. Listen to Christians around you. God may have them say something he means especially for you to hear. Go to church. God may send a message to you through what you learn there. Attend a Bible study. Listen to Christian music. Keep a journal of what you would say to God if he took you to lunch. The more opportunity you give God to send you messages the louder and the clearer they will come in to you. CONGRATULATIONS!!! You just learned how to "Dial-up" God Now go ahead, and give it a whirl.
