Compare this gull to the appearance and sounds of
the Common and Least Terns. This gull is a very agile flier
and often flies with the tail in a very tight square.
The mature Laughing Gull develops a red bill similar to the Common
Tern. |

The Laughing Gulls at Point Pleasant are more
slender than those portrayed by Audubon. Immatures have very
faint brownish heads with their adult neck-line developing. |
