| So you think you've got what it takes to join the club...
Anyone can join the club, so tell all your friends about it too!
|
| Make sure you have a computer |
| Before you join the club, make sure you have a computer you can bring to events. The club can't provide computers (unless you are willing to pay us thousands of dollars). Don't forget to bring power adaptors and extension leads. Some of you use a single socket, but i've seen other people who somehow manage to take up 7. Network hubs will be provided by the club. A limited number of network cards may be available, but it's best to buy one to avoid the hassle of installing the card every meeting. 100Mbit network cards can be bought for as little as $15 these days. Of course, you can choose not to connect to the network, but that would make it make almost pointless to bring your computer (unless you have some kind of elite supercomputer that you wouldn't want to connect to our filthy, inferior, low-level network).

| Form |
| The easiest, quickest, bestest, goodest, funnest, ultra-mega-superior way to show you're interested in the joining the club is with this form:
|
If you can't fill in the form for some reason, just send email to mikk999@yahoo.com with a subject line of 'I wanna sell my soul to GUCGC' (or something like that). HOLD ON there pardner! Before you go off on a mad spamming spree, make sure your email contains:

| Join the executive committee |
| Won't it look cool on your resume when you say, "Look! I was an executive of a prestigious upper class club." Maybe you wouldn't use those exact words, but you get the point. For those of you who would feel guilty about showing up every meeting and event without doing any of the work, you can join the executive committee (no time wasters please). The club doesn't require much work, but it needs at least 3 people running it. Those of you that want to help run the club should send email to mikk999@yahoo.com, and put 'I want to embezzle GUCGC funds' as the subject line. Make sure you include in your email all the stuff listed above, and make sure you seriously want to do the job. We don't want time wasters who never show up or participate in running the club. |
