Year 4 pupils at Hagar Qim a megalithic Temple

Imnajdra Megalithic Temple .......built about 4000 B.C.

There are several Neolithic Temples scattered around the island.

Imnajdra Temple is of particular interest because it was aligned to the rays of the sun and served as a kind of calendar, apart from being a place of worship,

First rays of the sun on the Equinox, (21st March,2000). The first ray of sun of March 21st falls excactly on the main altar of the temple, while the sun's rays would fall on the two columns on either side of the altar during the summer and winter solstices.
