America,
11th September 2001 ~ Oh God!
I sit in horror, watching
my TV
The images I see are
hard to believe.
The World Trade Centre,
spewing smoke in the air.
Oh God, please help
the people in there.
Another jet plane then
flies by,
What happens next
brings tears to my eye.
A big ball of fire,
smoke and debris
Oh God, NO! How can
this be?
Two towers, two planes,
an accident? NO WAY!
Terrorists have struck
America today.
Planes full of people,
towers full too
Oh God, oh God, what
can we do?
I sit and stare at
the tv screen,
Totally shocked by
the unfolding scene.
Too far away to help
in any way
Oh God, please be
with America today!
Another news flash,
the horror goes on
A third plane has
crashed into the Pentagon!
Smoke and flames belch
from this building too
Oh God, I can't believe
this is all true.
As my heart grows heavier,
and my mind goes numb,
I can hardly believe
there's more to come,
One tower caves in,
too weak to keep standing
Oh God, this thing
is beyond my understanding
Thousands of lives
snuffed out in a flash,
Crushed to death in
the towers crash.
A pile of rubble,
a giant dust cloud,
Oh God, this horror
should never be allowed.
The second tower soon
follows its mate.
For those inside it's
now too late
To say "I Love You"
to family and friends
Oh God, when will
this horror end?
Another plane has crashed
in a Pennsylvanian field,
More lives to add
to the terrorists' yield.
How much more can
we endure, how much more will there be?
Oh God, please stop
this, we've had enough, can't you see?
The violence and destruction
is hard to believe.
America is in mourning,
the world, too, will grieve.
This day will leave
a scar on our global soul
Oh God, please help
us, never again will we be whole.

"Well, I guess many
poems will come out of this tragedy - mine being one of them as well this
one by my dear LOTH 26 sis! This poem states the tragic heartache
that many of us feel at this horrific act....Kris has captured it well.
God bless us all."
