Christina ~ From the Heart

From what I’ve read and from what I’m told
Christina has a heart of Gold

Her name and character both are strong
She tries to right what she feels is wrong

Supported by Jeff through thick and thin
I have no doubt that they will win

She seems too bright for someone her age
She must have been a teenage sage

God gave her gifts to tackle things perverse
Then augment her views in prose and verse

My wisdom comes from mistakes and pain
No doubt hers was acquired just the same

I’m sure that there are still things that she’ll rue
But no doubt her "God" will see her through

She still has faults ~ at least that’s what I think
As I imagine her standing at the sink

At adversity she will not flinch
I think it’s hard for her to give an inch

Yet it’s also hard to win "The Booker"
When you’re feverishly slaving at the cooker

Tending house and writing rhyme
It's not always easy to find the time

Consequently ~ when she should be in bed!
She strides the globe on the World Wide Web

But her fame will spread of that I’m sure
Because she has sincerity - to the very core

But with such sincerity there’s always pain
But she will find her Sunshine - after rain

And her rain with sunshine will bring rainbow hues
As she grows and flexes her broadened views

Yes ~ She’ll establish herself globally of that I’m sure
As the Internet brings "World Acclaim" right to her door

I’ve no doubts that Christina will be famous in the end
And perhaps by then ~ she'll be my friend.

"I got a wonderful surprise when I downloaded my email on my birthday (31st December) yesterday morning, and found this lovely poem written by a new friend.   I have enjoyed reading Albert's poetry this last week or so, but when I received this poem in an email, written for me through his eyes, after corresponding back and forth and reading my "About Me" pages (at http://chrissysplace.virtue.nu/), I was touched.   I have to say that this poem is one of my favourites that Albert has written....but that is because it is about me! *smiles*   Thank you, Albert."

You can visit Albert's home on the Web Poetry on the Line, to read some more of his wonderful poems.
