How can I face my Father today
With the stain of sin on my hands?
I can face my Father today,
Because I know He understands.

My life is marred by many things
That are neither good nor right
Still He says He will come for me
And clothe me in spotless white.

"My child," He says, "Oh, child of Mine
How can you forget My grace?
Brother Jesus has paid for your sin,
So you can stand with me, face to face."

Still I feel a great burden,
Guilt and shame are weighing me down.
I've turned my back, sinned great sins,
How can I face my Father now?

Tears are in my soul,
Pain is in my heart.
I feel such a great desolation
When my Father and I are apart.

I know my Father waits
With arms open wide,
But I don't feel worthy,
I'm all dark and hard inside.

By myself I can do nothing.
The job is too much for me.
I need my Father's help right now
To be the person I want to be.

Although my sin is so great
And worthy I do not feel,
To my Father I will go now,
By His feet I will humbly kneel.

Through humble prayer and true confession
Forgivenaess will be given me.
The Holy Spirit will fill me anew
To cleanse me and set me free.

My Father's love is true and free,
Mine, just by accepting.
His loving arms will surround me
All warm and safe and loving.

"The most amazing thing about God is that He always understands, and He always forgives us when we come to Him, confessing our sins.  He knows we are not perfect, but we are saved by His amazing grace!  He accepts us as we are and loves us.  That is so awesome!   We cannot get that forgiveness or grace without Him.  And no matter what we go through, His arms will always be around us....He will always be our shelter from the storms of life.   And He always understands."
