Power
For This Hour
God is your strength
God is your power
God is there
Every minute and every
hour
For the sick and the
weary
For the poor and the
teary
He’ll turn every weakness
Into his glory
He’ll catch every
tear
And ease all your
fear
He feels all your
pain
Again and again
He sees beyond the
masks
Of pretence with strength
And of false bravery
He knows you’re a
child
So scared and alone
That’s why He was
sent
To protect and restore
He’s done it all
And would do again
All for you only
It would not be in
vain
For when one of His
sheep
Strays from the pasture
Tears He does cry
Anguish He feels
Till He brings you
back
Through blood, sweat
and tears
In forgiveness He
finds you
And loves you in total
No other man
Can do, be, or replace
His infinite love,
power and grace
So let Him in
And you will be safe
From sin
In the care of our
Saviour
Just pray Him in
He’ll never leave
you nor forsake you
I’m only human
I will fail you
But God is everywhere
When I can’t be there
I send him in prayer
So accept this offering
As He so unconditionally
wants you
In all of your moods
With all of your stories
He’ll turn all your
bitterness
Into his Glories
Even if you cannot
see it
In this very hour
Believe me
God’s working
To turn this hurt
to victory
And He will succeed
As He did on Calvary
No-one believed Him
then
Till Jesus rose from
the dead
Right now in your
life
Are the three days
in death
Your life will rise
And we’ll celebrate
your victory
For united we stand
Divided we fall
So please take His
hand
He’s already in yours

"Elizabeth originally
wrote this poem for me during 1996 when I was still with my ex-husband.
The long days and endless nights of living with the abuse shattered me
and my faith, both in God and myself. She wrote this poem as
encouragement for me to reach out and seek the Hand of God who is there
beside me feeling every pain that I feel at the hands of my (then) husband.
An encouraging poem, she has since passed it on to other people who have
also struggled through their difficulties, finding it helping those who
endure hard times. This is one of my favourites."
