I tried the
original recipe once, but my dad caught me making it and said it was too
unhealthy. I don't even like root beer, but my siblings do. The healthy
recipe might not be what it really tastes like, but it certainly
warms you up!
Butterbeer |
Ingredients
Healthy Version
- 2 tablespoons
Tang* - 8 oz. of hot water or 1
cup
Original Version
- 8 oz. Root Beer - 1 to 2 tablespoons melted
butter |
Directions for
Healthy Version
Mix Tang powder and hot water together. Directions for
Original Version Mix butter into
Root Beer. You can use a microwave to melt the butter. |
* Tang can be bought at a U.S. store. (I don't know about Canada or Great
Britain.) It is a orange-colored drink mix with 100% Vitamin C. Tang
commercials featuring orangutans drinking Tang and kids going crazy after
their first sip of Tang. (Not that you would want to know...) |

confess that I have not actually tried these recipes yet. I found the scone
recipe from a cookbook, and then I modified it. Happy Snacking!

Ingredients
Scones
- 2 cups flour - 2 & 1/4 teaspoons baking
powder - 1 tablespoon sugar - 1/2 teaspoon salt - 1/4 cup
butter
- 2 eggs
1/4 cream (optional)
Meadowcream
- 1/4 cup spreadable cream cheese - 2
tablespoons butter - 1 quart whipped cream - 1 tablespoon
dark honey* - 1/4 sugar
