Thinking Day
Thinking day was created in 1926. On the 22nd of February each year, we commemorate the birthday of both our founder, Lord Baden-powell and his wife, Lady Olave. It is a special occasion to remember them with gratitude, as well as remember our sister Guides and Girl Scouts and express their thoughts through activities which include varied learning from each other's culture through songs, dances, crafts, games, costumes, practices and traditions. They give monetary contributions to WAGGGs in a fitting ceremony to help their sister guides and Girl Scouts from other lands and help to promote the development of Girl Guiding/Girl Scouting. Thinking Day contributions started in 1932 and these started the thinking day fund. For more information, refer to Girl Guides History.
