Guiding On The Go's
Donation to World Friendship Fund

In Memory of
Kelsey Johnson

In September and October of 2000 some of the members of our club put together a Christmas craft book.  As part of this project, Jane (Olleeowl) also collected $1.00 per person that participated and put it into a collection, to be donated to the World Friendship Fund as a Christmas service project for our club.   Below is the letter that Jane sent to Girl Guides of Canada.

To whom it may concern,

Please find enclosed cheque in the sum of $45.00 as a donation to the World friendship Fund.  This amount represents donations from members of the on-line Yahoo! Guiding club called "Guiding on the Go!'  We have recently put together a compilation of Christmas craft ideas from many of our members, and asked them to donate money on top of the cost of the book, in order to make this donation to the WFF in memory of Kelsey, the young daughter of one of our members who was tragically killed in an accident earlier this year.

The Parents of the little girl that died are:  Ed and Trina Johnson, (Their address was put here)

Our club has approximately 350 members, only about 25 of them took part in this project.  We are a unique group of Guiders with common interests.  Our club gives us the opportunity to share our thoughts and ideas with fellow Guiders around the world.  Our Founder, Gwen Chapman, is a Toronto-based Guider; our members are from Canada, USA, England, Scotland, Australia, and New Zealand.  We 'chat' twice each week, and find that this regular communication provides a wonderful support system for us all as we face challenges within Guiding.

Please accept this donation in memory of Kelsey Johnson on behalf of the members of Guiding On The Go.
Sincerely,

Jane Brook
