Upcoming:

• Russell -- a family film about a man getting turned into a koala. From what I've read, it's "one of the most expensive films yet mounted in Australia."
• According to what I've read, somewhere in the mix Mulcahy is supposed to be directing (at least part of) a Clive Barker miniseries based on his novel "Weaveworld." According to one website, pre-production was supposed to begin September 2002, with filming anticipated for January/February 2003 in Australia. However, I haven't seen another word about it.
• "The Reincarnation of Martin Gregory" -- anticipated release has been moved to September 9, 2003, according to IMDB.com -- which also now lists it as currently "filming." I can't find any other information on it, though, to confirm this.

  The film based on a book called The Watcher by Charles Maclean. The basic plot is that an "ordinary" man suddenly commits a horrific crime, and goes to a psychiatrist to find out why he suddenly went berzerk. The book has been labeled as part horror, part sci fi -- and it's all of those, and then some. Having read it, I can see why they sort of totter back and forth regarding whether it's fantasy or not; it all depends upon who you believe in the end about all the events that happen. Either the guy is nuts, or something really eerie is taking place. The beginning is gruesome, although I thought it was going to be much worse from all the descriptions I'd read. (I can't give away what happens because that would spoil the fun. :P) But it is horror/suspense, and quite a ride at that. Hopefully the script will prove fairly true to the nature of the book, which I enjoyed immensely.

  The other note I have on this project is that I recently acquired an article from back in The Shadow days (circa 1994) that mentions this film, so it has been in the works for some time already. I've seen it have several delays since I've even heard of it about a year ago. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it does get made eventually; I think Mulcahy has the right touch for something like this, particularly in his attitude of not holding back (hence the "bucket of blood" nickname earned on the Tales From the Crypt set).
