15 May (Saturday) (cont'd)

In the afternoon we made a brief run to Waternish and the Stein Inn, which is the oldest Inn on Skye.  It's a quaint, comfortable place, and that's where we ate.  We also made a run up to Portree and Uig, where we had a brief look around.  Aside from Glasgow where I landed, Portree and Mallaig were the biggest towns we'd been through -- and only a fraction of the size of the big American cities I'm accustomed to.
